Re: Hard Bosses
Phantom Ganon and Bongo Bongo were the most challenging bosses for me in OoT. When I was younger I had some difficulty dealing with Phantom Ganon's painting phase and the ball speeding up during energy tennis added to the challenge. Bongo Bongo could deal out a good deal of damage and often hit me with it's punching, hand-swiping, and clapping attacks.
Regarding MM, I found Goht to be the most difficult boss. His homing lightning always seemed to connect no matter how much I tried to avoid it and the rocks, bombs, and stalactites could add up when Goht was on his last legs. Gyorg himself wasn't a pain; the camera was the most annoying part of the battle, along with the cutscene where Gyorg sends out his minions, simply because Nintendo basically gives him a free hit right after that.

Re: Hard Bosses
Phantom Ganon was easily the hardest boss in a 3D Zelda game. No matter how many times I tried, I just couldn't get the timing right. I'd always hit just a second too soon or too late. It's hard enough to hit the first time, but having to adjust the timing as the ball gets faster and faster was incredibly tough for me, not to mention the frustration of Phantom Ganon dodging the balls half the time. I died at least a dozen times. Oddly, I've never had a problem with any other Zelda tennis fights (Ganondorf, Agahnim, Possessed Zelda).

Re: Hard Bosses
Just like others, Gyorg, that's the boss that almost had me put a hole in my wall!
I still haven't beat him yet, so it's been a while since i've tried Great Bay again. Right now i'm stocking up on as many heart pieces as i can get my hands on, and do as many sidequests as i can before i go back. Cuz when i go back and face that fish.............................................. ........................................... Re: Hard Bosses
In OoT it was most certainly Phantom Ganon, like being said, the timing of the energy tennis was quite hard to see through. I don't remember how it was to fight any of the bosses in MM because I haven't been playing it recently.

Re: Hard Bosses
Well i beat Gyorg yesterday finally! You just need about two or three fairies, and you need to toy around with him a bit.
Oh he might've been having fun but he didn't know it was going to lead to his impending DOOM!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Hard Bosses
He's pretty simple to beat. From the platform look for bubbles, then shoot him with an arrow. Slap on the Zora mask and jump in after him. Shock him with the Zora Barrier attack, then return to the platform and repeat. You shouldn't even lose 5 hearts for the entire battle.

Re: Hard Bosses
I have only gotten a game over on ONE boss in the entire set of 3D games and that was Gyorg. I just beat him today. (I was down to 1/2 heart after being revived once. I had two fairies though.) I didn't know to use the electric shield, so I had a lot of trouble before, using the fin boomerang. Bongo-Bongo was ridiculously easy because of the fact that after getting the four carpenters I started trying arrows on parts of the bosses (or other major enemy) at the beginning of the fight. Stunning the hands with arrows and the boss with the hookshot when he charges works wonders. (I didn't take a single hit on my first play-through, and yes, I got the carpenters before the shadow temple) The only reason I took damage with King Dodongo is I didn't know to use the Hylian shield. Phantom Ganon got a few hits in, but nothing major. I was down to a heart but I hadn't gotten but four heart peices, so I only really had seven heart containers. (I think)
Dark link was pretty easy, I had heard about using the megaton hammer, and I had also heard it doesn't work. If you hit him with your sword then the hammer, you can catch him off guard. In the later parts, though he becomes more aggressive and this becomes difficult. I had to use Din's fire for the last three hits. (I used it four times, but he blocked the third, how is comepletely unknown to me.)

Re: Hard Bosses
Every time I tried to hit gyorg with the energy barrier second hit (I always used an arrow first), he ate me. If I tried to stop him from eating me by ramming him with it, he ate me.
I got 8 game overs on him. I never have to beat him again for teh most part, It was late final night when I beat him so I just rushed to those beavers and song of time'd after them. |

Re: Hard Bosses
Twinmold was annoying in MM, and so was Odolwa and those frickin' bugs he sends after you.
As for OoT, I can't really decide since I've played it so many times. The first time ever I had trouble with Barinade in Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Now, I've become pretty adept at the other bosses so I can't really decide. |

Re: Hard Bosses
Gyorg was sort of hard, not that much though.
Nothing really springs to mind...
