Re: OoT vs. MM: Which is better?

MM is my favorite game due to the awesome sidequests. The emontional plot, and the interesting three day mechanic meant you needed interesting ways to spend time.

Re: OoT vs. MM: Which is better?

I liked OoT better because it was the first one i played and is just my all around favorite game. it represents a significant part of my childhood. plus i liked all of the side quests and central story more than i liked majora's mask. The central story is more important to me than all the side quests. when i play a game i like to know that im progressing through the main story. the little side quests are fun and all but just not what i play for. to me, Oot had found that happy median

I agree, but I still would prefer Oot any day because

Probably a bit more intense at certain moments

MM isnt really as challenging than Oot at some points,

Oot's ending is more fun and u feel more relieved than the end of MM (in my opinion)

Overall, Oot just has those certain challenging parts and those certain moments that just make the game so fun. Plus, I like being able to switch from Young to Adult Link whenever you want.

I would have to say MM is better. I loved all the sidequests, and turning into a Goron was sooooo much fun! I wish I could live in Termina...

Oot is definatly the better game. It has a great story and a great feel. MM was one of the worst gaming experiences of my life

I played OOT first, but MM is the first one I beat by myself (the Water Dungeon kept me from beating it for so long, but then I finally did it). I'm a bit biased too

Re: OoT vs. MM: Which is better?

I think Majora's Mask is better. The various things you can do with the masks and for the masks is great. MM is more emotional, you can feel better that the world is in trouble. Because you can talk more with the people, and they tell you their feelings and emotions... And they have a schedule, they aren't the same on the first, second and final day/night. That makes things difficult but you have to think about people's problems, and that fills you with empathy. Bomber's Notebook is awesome.
Though MM is shorter, I think it's complete. If it'd be longer then you'd be annoyed by the moon's grin

This is very difficult. I'm going to say Oot because the temples were better. I enjoyed MM atmosphere more however.

Re: OoT vs. MM: Which is better?

Both had amazing plots and storylines overall, and I think the challenges of gameplay was pretty even between the two.
But, I can't help but feel that along with the expansion pack and newer technology, Majora's Mask had the ability to let the player delve even deeper into the game than in Ocarina. Also, the sheer amount of character depth that was aided by the Bomber's Notebook blew me away!

I prefer Ocarina for the sheer nostalgia and the fact that it's still revered today as being so groundbreaking. I like the feeling that by playing this game, I was a part of gaming history too!
And I like Majora better for the characters and subplots. 'Twas a deep game indeed.

I'm going to have to go with MM. It sported a much better story and a better aptmosphere, plus the mask system kept me interested.

Re: OoT vs. MM: Which is better?

It's a really tough decision but personally I think that OOT is a bit overrated. It's way too easy, the story isn't that deep and it doesn't have enough side quests. MM on the other hand is quite a bit harder, the story is quite interesting and has a darker tone, which I like, and there are hundreds of side quests. And of course there is the interesting 3 day cycle game mechanic that makes the game feel different and original. and everyone has there own schedule. MM just felt like a more fulfilling experience. I think why OOT gets so much praise is because it was the first 3D Zelda game and it was so revolutionary. Many people will probably disagree with me but this is just my own personal opinion.

Re: OoT vs. MM: Which is better?

Ocarina of Time. So awesome and epic, with a perfect balance of nearly everything.

Majora's Mask is pretty cool too, tho.

You're darn right we'll disagree. There are many reasons why people prefer OoT, not least of which is that although some people may like the 3 Day system, many people don't. With OoT, you can explore thing at your leisure. Plus what it lacks in side quests, it makes up in freakin awesome dungeons.

Come on, even Miyamoto and Aonuma prefer OoT to the other games.

I like the 3 Day cycle, because it makes things difficult, for me. I played MM first, and I was happy because in OoT I had time to try things again and again, and I didn't have to worry about running out of time. But, I think, difficulty is a good point, that's why I think 3 Day cycle is good.
