Fire Temple (Original Version)?

I'm sure most of you know this, and I'm pretty sure their was already a thread on this, but I couldn't find one so...lock away if this is a duplicate.


How many of you have heard the original Fire Temple song from OOT before Nintendo made the cut for it?

They supposedly removed it because the people chanting in the background deciphered as ''Allah no God'' and ''I bear witness that there is no god but Allah'', it was removed because of Muslim chants.

Not sure if those were actually the chants, but I do know theirs two versions of Fire Temple for a fact.




Anyways, I have the original version and thought I'd share it with you all. (For those of you who have not heard it before, of course)

I didn't actually own the original OoT; I only played OoT on the VC, which I assume is V1.2.

But I did hear it from a Youtube video about OoT.

And I don't really prefer it over the current one.
Though the earlier one seems to have more emotion in it; perhaps I'm just biased to my first encounter of the Temple.

That's... interesting.

The chants kinda give me chills, but really add to the song. Thanks for the share.

Yeah, they send a chill down my spine at certain points.
Haven't a clue why. Like I said, more emotion.

they released three versions
1.0- gold cartridge(most of the time)- no mods
1.1-silver cartridge, some gold, changed fire temple music
1.2-silver cartridge, changed fire temple music, changed gerudo symbol, changed ganny's and creatures blood to green, and other color mods, and bugs fixed

most people have 1.2 or 1.1. i have 1.0 and i like it most.

The Fire Temple music wasn't changed until V1.2.

Gerudo symbol wasn't changed until the GCN versions. The only blood that was changed to green was Ganondorfs no one elses was.

Wow, never heard that one before. And yes, I have heard it on the N64 version before. I was helping my little cousin beat the fire temple (he has the gold version, I don't) and as I was playing I heard the chanting and it creeped the hell out of me. The meaning of the chanting might not have been intentional though, the developers could have just gotten it from a public sound library, not knowing what it meant. If it was intentional, that's pretty weird, makes me wonder why they would put so many Muslim references in a game that had nothing to do with it.

Does anyone have a link to the updated fire temple music? I have this one on my copy of the game, so I've never heard what they changed it too.

Though I own the game ''with'' the edited version, I don't currently have an OST for it on this computer.

Wow, I've never heard this before. I'd always wondered what the chant sounded like ever since first heard about it. I feel like I missed out a lot now that I've heard it. It doesn't matter what the words are, but it sure as hell fills out the sound that I always thought was too empty. They should've just put a different chant.

no, it was the first thing changed.

gerudo's change came directly after the fire temple's, still in the cartridges.
and not just gannies blood, but other bosses as well.

I have a silver cartridge that has the original fire temple music, original gerudo symbol, yet the blood is green (blue sometimes), and no bugs that I know of...

...so what do I have?

and to be focused on the music itself... I like the original much better. But then again, I'm used to the real version. I'd probably feel different if I'd heard the dubbed version all the time.

The reason why it's green, red, and blue sometimes is that the color of the blood depends on what tunic you are wearing.

Woah thats really cool, I've never heard about that. Lol, I can't hear them saying anything about Allah. I wish they had kept that music, its kinda creepy, I like it.

it doesnt mean "Allah no god, it really means , "there is no other god but Allah" and Allah, means god in arabic. but yeah your right, the chanting kinda sounds like it, but those arent the chants. they are alot different from the real chanting. The chanting in the original fire temple song is so creepy.

Gerudo symbol change came when the game went to GCN. What other bosses had blood? I know Ganon has blood too but I don't remeber any others having blood. Please list them.
