anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
i was just wondering if anyone thought a remake of OoT would sell if they re-did it with wii-grade graphics. i've always wondered what that would look like. but seeing as how its been ten years since the release of the original i doubt it would get anyone other than the hardcore zelda collectors.
but just imagine what all the characters would look like if they were made more life like. i think it would be pretty cool. but i dont think it would sell very well. also if you could remake OoT would you change anything? character design? maps? bosses?

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
Yeah, I mean, it would be sort of worthless. I mean, the graphics aren't that bad for 64, and the game is amazing without them. I'm sure people would buy it just because its prettier, but their getting the same exact game. I don't see it happening, but yeah, if your a big enough Zelda fan, I'm sure you'd buy it.

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
No, not with VC. I would've seen it MAYBE with the DS before the Wii, but anyone with a gamestop would just go and buy a used Ura Zelda, err, Master Quest, if they wanted a super OoT. It would be fun, and I'd probably buy it, but from a business perspective, no, terrible idea. It'd be a possibility if money weren't involved, and might give the medallions and a sky temple some use, but, no, it wouldn't work...
Though it may even be in the works, I mean, they did keep that model of sheik for SSBB.

Yes, it would sell. It would sell wonders. I just hope that Nintendo is above something like that... "hope" being the key word.

IT...WOULD...BE...A WASTE!!! Seriously, they already remade it for the GCN, why do you need another, it would waste its potential...

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
I think it would be a great idea.... if it wasn't sold for the 64. I mean, i love oot but only if the wii sytem was where it was sold first...it's home system. then it would be awsome.

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
I know my Girlfriend would buy it. She's in love with Oot, she's beaten it a grand total of 21 times. I would buy it also... for her... Na, I think it would be great! I love it. Seriously!

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
If they upgraded the graphics, added some new items and maybe a bonus dungeon(temple of light or something.) then it might sell pretty well.i'm hoping for a remake. The original is sweet, but imajine it with twilight princess graphics. that'd be awesome.
![]() And it would'nt be a waste. In the reviews for the remakes the main complaint was outdated graphics. Now if they updated it fans would by it and newcomers would buy because thay might not have played ocarina of time. They'd get money out of it.They would definitly get my money. I have every copy of the game released.Gotta love having 12 files. ![]() ![]()

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
If they make a remake for the wii it would sell but they run the chance of murdering OoT while doing so. i think that's why they haven't made a big remake of any Zelda game.

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
While playing SSBM, I saw that Link was the same Link from Oot. The problem is, due to the better graphics, they messed up his face. If Oot was remade with better graphics, his face and a lot of other things could be messed up as well.

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
True, I think if they can make it good enough, improving gfx and sound like in TP, while not pissing off fans, it will sell better then hot cakes.

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
Actually, I think it's a really good idea; definitely not a waste. I think new graphics would make it like a whole new experience, and more than likely bring in new gamers who either weren't able to buy the game when it was out for the 64, or don't want it because they won't have nice graphics. I personally think that they're rather advanced for the N64, but I'm sure that there are other people who think otherwise.
But honestly, I'd really like them to be working on a new Zelda game rather than an old one.... ![]()

Quote:
People who never played it before would love it. people who have played it before would love the graphics as long as it stays true to the original. I don't understand why some of you guys believe that since its a remake that nobody will buy. Final Fantasy seems to enjoy creating remake after remake.

Re: anyone think a remake of OoT would sell?
That boat has shipped and sailed, son.
The last thing we need is a remake. The series needs to do away with the A Link to the Past formula and bring something entirely new to the table. Miyamoto is just so damn arrogant and afraid of change he doesn't want mix things up a little. Aonuma had the right idea with Phantom Hourglass, but it just wasn't quite enough. It was certainly in the right direction though. |
