Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
Are you sure that the "Pointing Hand" isn't just placed there as a hint towards spinning the world on it's head to access the second part of the temple?
Sorry if this has been said earlier, but tl;dr.

Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
Dan, you have truly reinvented my overall perspective of MM. I do have some theories for you to speculate on also.
Look at the 4 temples respectively. What element and process do they represent? The evolution of man. Take the Woodfall temple as an example. It's structure is made of wood, harnessing the power of water, and earth. Then look at Snowhead. It shows an advancement in harnessing the power of fire and rock, to build homes, and stronger, stabler structures. It also shows an advancement of Geometry, suggesting maybe this would be Greek times, if comparing it to our world. It's a complicated structure, all harnessing new knowledge. Then look at Great Bay. It itself shows evolution. As it is sometimes referenced to, the Terminans are more technologically advanced than their Hylian conterparts, considering working banks, clocks, inns, and other such examples. Great Bay is a working factory, showing man's harness over minerals and metal, and further able to control the flow of water. And last, look at Stone Tower. I think Stone Tower represents the establishment of religion, further supporting your theory of rejecting the Goddesses. But it also shows man's harnesses over common material, like we live today. Skyscrapers, all reaching towards the heavens, establishing mirrors, jewels, and complicated bridge structures. You see my point? It's just an example pertaining at what I always thought of MM. Yours offers a more profound way of looking at the temples, and the game itself. |

Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
Clever, but I doubt they would make it so complicated for young children to understand.

Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
Wow, what an awesome theory. You, Mr. Dan, have just made me join ZU.
I completely support your theories. For all you non-supporters: The first argument that I shall present is that Mr. Dan is a pervert. I have read all 51 pages and looked at every URL on this website, and this is quite common. He and his perverted mind are simply associating cylindrical shaped objects with penises. I think not. For those of you who know what a penis looks like (I'm assuming all), it is generally split into two parts, the "head" and the "body." Notice the pillar, and how the share the same basic structure! If a penis was thin and pointy, with little crossguards, let's say, then I could say, "Oh my, the Master Sword is a representation of a penis!" But it isn't. Thus, argument No1 has been terminated. The second argument is that Mr. Dan is simply making connections, such as how Link is a guy based off his figure, or Majora wants to destroy Termina because he is sending the moon to crash down upon it. Based off of what many non-supporters say about Mr. Dan's theory, I could say, "Well, we don't know if Link is a guy. Most fans speculate that Link is a guy, but we really can't clarify. Link never speaks, and perhaps he/she has small breasts! Perhaps he/she's a tomboy! We don't know!" Yet, if I said this, I would be slaughtered by a vast wave of posts about my stupidity. But the basic part of this argument, is that it all fits. All of the connections, all of the references, (if you play the game) they all fit! The connection is there, its real, even if the entire theory is not true! Many attack this as being fanfiction, but it seems more like fact to me. Thus, argument No2 has been eliminated. The final argument, and the one that I think is the most blasphemous, is that a video game cannot have this type of depth. That it is simply a form of entertainment. However, all video games tell a story, no matter how simple or complex. A video game is notonly a form of entertainment, but a work of art, that can be observed, and evoke as much emotion as any song, painting, or poem (directed towards you, Average Gamer). Oh yes, and luigirules64, you have made a very interesting point! Good job! Heh, pretty long first post, eh? |

Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
this theory is amazing, I have just read it and it has fitted together all the pieces of the puzzle for me and that this game is truly the deepest, darkest and most unique game I have ever played. (this is my favourite game ever) and your right this game is based on faith and gives an important message. Now I just have to wait for a sequel patiently while having faith...

Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
Have you even read 99% of theories? This is nothing compared to some of them. Anyways, amazing theory! Hylian Dan makes me want to play MM as soon as my Wii works in our hotel.

Re: The Message of Majora's Mask
This theory gave me an interest in Majora's Mask, I played it once back on the N64 but still I remember it point for point, I always wondered and tried to come up with reasons behind Majora and Fierce Diety, and to me this is very plausible, the only problem I see is, if they was foiled and fell down into whatever they fell into (possibly hell) and they began to worship Majora, then while building the temple they had no knowledge of Majora. So how did it come about the entrance statue resembling Majora, perhaps it was built by the ones who brang Majora into the world (if anyone did) or those or knew of Majora and worshipped her/him (maybe it was genderless, most likely female) instead of the ones who brang him/her into existence , as opposed to the theory of the ones who believed in male/giant dominance.
Also can someone fill me in on why the Ikana royal family was left to nothing but undead, also that of the Garo? And lastly does anyone know if the temples where built for the monsters that inhabit them, (I doubt they were built for the giants as they resided in the areas not the temples) or were they built in ancient times when Termina was one and such beings as Majora and the Fierce Diety lived with the Humans/Terminans? possibly when the giants were young or non existent |
