Purpose of the Secret Shrine.

I've been wondering, what is the Secret Shrine's purpose besides housing those monsters. I think that it's were the Majora's Mask was hidden because there are paper hearts on the wall and the Majora's Mask is shaped like heart.
What do you guys think?

I'm alittle slow today, sorry, but could you remind me again about this shrine? Where and what is it exactly?

AH! Yes, that shrine. Again, forgive me, I haven't played Majora's Mask in awhile. From what I can remember about the shrine, it is a holding place for something. The 'braided' paper that hangs from the ceiling is dealt with Japanese seals. Did the shring hold Majora? Maybe, but I haven't been in the shrine in a long time to give a for sure answer.

Mabye it could most definetly be a prision for the Majora's Mask because it is underground and the entrance is behind a waterfall. But the Majora's Mask would have to be locked up deep within the shrine because of it's powers, mabye a secret entrance located in one of the walls of the main room could lead to a gigantic temple. The Shrine is mysterious. So it's purpose will remian a mystery until the developers gives us the answer. But who knows, mabye i'm right.

It could have another purpose than just a place were you fight all of the mini-bosses again. It is called the "Secret Shrine" so it could have been used as a place for whorshipping. But i like the idea of it being the prison of the Majora's Mask.

Ya, I always thought that it might have other meaning because of the way they portray it. Also with that guy in it who keeps talking to you

The Happy Mask Salesman did not say what he meant by "the shadows" when he was telling the story of the Majora's Mask and if it was placed in the Shadows then how could he have gotten it?

Great lengths...
I can imgane the Happy Mask Saleman trying to get the MM while he's dressed up like Indana Jones. He grabs it and a huge boulder comes roling down.
HMS: Crap...
He starts running.
*LOL*

I think the heart just means that you get a piece of hearth in the shrine or a map something you know
