Re: this really grinds my gears
Someone's been watching a little too much Family Guy.
![]() As for the Skull Kid, I think you were able to stun him the first time because he wasn't expecting it. He wises up after that, which is why he blocks it and laughs at you. As for the windmill guy... well, in MM he's not really a windmill guy, is he, since there's no windmill. And I think people like him because, well, I guess people in Termina have a weird taste in music.

Re: this really grinds my gears
You're forgetting he has the power of Majora's Mask. And don't you think that he'd notice that the ocarina is gone?

Re: this really grinds my gears
ummmmmm no not really i dont think majora is all heis cracked up to be shure he is strong but i dont think he has the power to travle through time have you ever heard of the grandfather effect? f you go back in time and kill your grandfather then you will never be born but if your never born thean you cant kill you grandfather but because you just did it causes a loop in the time space contineuim causing time to actually freez forever so the point is if skull kid took your ocarina then you take it you cant really take t back cuz you never hd it for him to steal in the first place!

Re: this really grinds my gears
I can see the confusion.
Beginning of game: Skull kid owns the ocarina. On the 3rd day, you take it, you go back to the past 3 days. From that point on: Skull kid has no ocarina but he is still on top of the clock tower. The problem is he took your ocarina in the forest before all of this. In OoT, what you do in the past will have an effect in the future (spirit temple, song of storms). In this game, in addition to the above, apparently what you did in the future affects the past for this one ocarina issue. What makes sense to me is that there are 2 ocarinas, one in your possession and one in skull kids, then that means when you go to the 3rd day on your second time, you can blow a bubble and knock the ocarina out of skull kid's hands. However, I haven't tried this, and in this game, I'm not sure this would happen. So I'll assume Skull Kid has no ocarina. In this game, there is a time at the bottom of the screen. So yes, it is a fixed 3 day cycle. This is why it makes more sense to me that skull kid will always have your ocarina. I can't say the same for OoT's time flow, but anyway: When you beat a temple, and you go back 3 days, it appears as if you haven't cleared anything at all, except there is a portal to take you to the boss room. This is due to magic (goddess of time maybe, I don't know, but it's SOMEthing). There may be other special exceptions like this that happens in this game, someone more familiar with MM will know. The only problem with the temple thing is, it could be considered as just a video game thing to let you fight the boss directly. Well about Skull Kid and the ocarina, once you get it back, you go to the HMS and he teaches you the Song of Healing. He retains his memory, and apparently time doesn't flow where he is. It could be that the place is magical (sorry I'm using the M-Word again), but more likely the HMS himself is just a mysterious magical maniac. Majora's Mask can be the exception too. Because Skull Kid is wearing it, he may be aware that it is now the second 3 day cycle. This fits in with why he doesn't have the ocarina, and as mentioned before you'd have to be an idiot to not realize you don't have something like this. Skull Kid could have been sent back in time 3 days along with Link. |
