stalchilds

What are stalchilds? At first I thought that they werem obviously children of the skeleton men (this was when i was 8, remember) but then I thought that they were probably children who died on hyrule field. But if they were just dead children, then why did so many children die on hyrule field?
Anyone's ideas?
P.S i don't think ganon just "conjered" them up, as:
1. he didn't have the triforce yet
2. wouldn't he prefer big stalfos?

I think they are Kokiri's who left Kokiri Forest and died...thats why the Kokiri's don't want you to leave the forest

They never left the Kokiri Forest, they are the ones who went into the section of the Kokiri Forest that is the Lost Woods. The kids got lost in there, and turned into little Stalfos.

At least, that's what I think it was...if I remember correctly for OoT. Although...I can't recall if that section was called the Lost Woods or not...

They look kindof like Stalfos, so they could be related. Or maybe they are the people who get lost in the lost woods.

No people who get lost in the lost woods become Skull Kids, but since only Kokiri and children can survive in the Kokiri forest (non-cannon sources, but still pretty reliable) you couldn't get adult Stalfos that way. So no yoru idea does not work.

Well I guess a stalchild is just another enemy with no background. Its like trying to say where did stalfos come from.

I believe that navi offers some background information on the stalchilds that hunt the hyrule feild at night. I'll check into it later.

Didn't you know that the Stalchilds are people that used to be soldiers, even knights? In MM, you can talk to them, and they even have a general - the big Stalchild. I've read at some places that they're dead soldiers of Hyrule, appearing at night.

His Name was Skull Keeta. but i think they are kids who died in Hyrule Field. Maybe they drown or maybe they got rum over by horses. But maybe....They are Stalfos's children...O_o.

Definetaly the stalchids in the grave yard in MM are the soldiers of a long gone army. Under the command of the big one which I believe Nova Dragon has correctly named.

Good idea. Either death/dead or Skeleton or something like that.

But we ARE given the stalkids history in OoT...aren't we?

I thought they were small versions of stalfos or something.

No. This is what Navi says:

"StaleChild
Don't be afraid of them, just attack them repeatly."

That's the only thing she says. And we only get background history of Poes. They are the concetrated hatred of people that hated the world.


I think the Stalechilds are just like the miniture versions of the Stalfols like Maxi678 said.

I agree. Stalchildren have nothing do with Ganon, they were around in the beginning of the game before Hyrule fell under his influence.

Another thing to think about is that stalchildren only come out when Link is a kid, so either, they only attack children, or they are gone when Link is an adult.

Then how did they raise themselves from the dead? Wouldn't there have to be an evil power at work there?
