Happy Mask Man in Termina??

If Termina is an alternate dimension, how did the happy mask salesman get there? Any theories?

I don't think it matters. It only brings up the question of why everybody else is there in Terminia. The Happy Mask Salesman could even be a different person than the one found in Ocarina of Time. There's no real hints at if he is the same person, but then again, there aren't any things to suggest that he isn't as well.

As for what perhaps he was doing walking in the woods before Skullkid ambushed him is anyone's guess. I suspect he was merely travelling somewhere for a reason of little if any consequence.

I think he got there the same way Link did, i mean, they were in about the same area at the same time. He might've regained consciousness and just followed Deku Link into the world of Termina.

I think that the Happy Mask salesman is actually a different Happy Mask Salesman. He's just the alternate Salesman.

I think it is an alternate universe. I think Nintendo said that, but I don't know. Anyways they got lazy and just put all the people from Ocarina of Time into Majoras Mask.

True, He may have followed Link into the world of Termina after he regained consciousness, but here's a catch:

When we see Link in the woods, it's night time when the Skull Kid ambushed him and stole his insturment and horse.


When we see the Skull Kid ambushing the HMS and stealing MM, Yes, it's in the woods, but it is day when it happen.


Was the HMS lingering about the woods all day into the night when he found Link?

And also...I think he began following Link JUST when the Skull Kid stole Link's Ocarina and horse. (He had to run when things began speeding up) that way, your post would make more sense, he would be able to follow Deku Link because he followed Hylian Link into the World of Termina and then followed Deku Link to Termina, It all fits there, because he says that "former shape" line, assuming that he probably SAW Link when he was normalm and he probably wittnessed everything Link did.

you kind of answered your own question i think. yes it was day time when the skull kid ambushes HMS, and tha HMS is unconcious for a while,then at night skullkid finds link and link chases after him and by that time HMS has woke up and follows link.

In the cutscene where you see the HMS get ambushed he is in Termina field. The HMS was in Termina far before Link.. That hinted that he was the alternate HMS but the ending hints that he was from Hyrule.. So does the beginning, since he saw you in OoT.. Or he's just realy smart.. And a mind reader..

he probably got there the same way link did.....just because it is an alternative universe does't mean nobody else can get there if an opening is available...

Doesn't HMS say his meet link before. But maybe there is another way into termina.

seen as though we see HMS in the woods in hyrule in a cutscene, i can assume that it`s hyrules HMS guy. also he says he is travelling to termina in search of his stolen mask, so..i would say 100% it`s hyrules HMS guy.

perhaps.... maybe he fled to the lost woods during adult links time in Ocarina of time and was just wandering and then soon stumbled upon termina. there he saw familiar faces and a more peaceful area so just decided to live off his days there.Link went the same way but he got ambushed in the woods.

We see skull kid in lost woods with MM. He had stolen it form HMS and thats why HMS followed. But he doesnt actually go into termina until the end of the game. Weird.

What do you mean, he doesn't go into Termina until the end of the game?

My theory is that if you recall the happy mask salesman saying that he had followed link. The happy mask salesman could very well be the one that was in OOT in Hyrule Castle Town. That is what i believe.

he was a very bored happy mask salesman, and stumbled upon the entrance to Termina on accident one dark dreary day...

I think it's the hyrule HMS because he's traveling and looking for masks. In oot, his shop wasn't always open. No, not until after beating the Cavern. So where was he? Looking for masks right?

It is probably because Termina is an alternate dimension, the same people that exist in Ocarina of Time, also exist in Termina but they are not the same, and have different personalities.

Also what is weird is how in the end The Happy Mask Salesman just disappears, which makes me wonder whether he really existed or what. That part just didn't make any sense at all.

well...we know he exsists cause he picks you up and graps you...and really i think it was the HMS one cause well...if he dissappeared he probably went back to hyrule....BUT...it could have been that he went and ventured around Termina and found more masks...really i think no one knows except nintendo.
