Spiritual stone of the Hyilians

I think that maybe the Ocarina of time was like the spiritual stone of the hyilians, it was recquired, along with the "ye who holds the three spiritual stones" part and the song of time. the song of time was recquired to be played on that specific ocarina, so i was wondering if anyone new the orgins of the instrument itself. im thinking that perhaps it was carved from some magical stone or something like that.

I think all we really know is that it was a treasure passed down through the Royal Family.

It was not a spiritual stone, but along with the three stones and the Master Sword it was required to enter the Sacred Realm.
I'm more interested in what happened to it after OoT then it's origins. [it's obviously in MM and it would appear to make appearances in other games like aLttP and possibly LoZ]

i wonder if there is any reference,though,to its exact orgins, the series has always been good about givinfg at least some explanantion as to where the items you acquire came from. but i have heard nothing about this, all that i know is that zelda gives it to you. and that it is superior to the fairy ocarina, as it replaces it in OOT.

Isn't the Ocarina like a 'key' to the Spiritual stones?

I highly doubt that it is one of the stones, otherwise, it should be sitting with the stones where you place in the Temple of Time and Link wouldn't be able to take it with him.

I think its just one of the 4 keys to the Temple of Time. The three spiritual stones are placed on the altar, but it takes the Ocarina of Time to "activate" them.

It was probably created by the sages along with the Temple of Time and the spiritual stones, and went to the royal family just as the stones went to 3 separate races.

Probably the theory that seems the most likely, all 4 civil races of Hyrule would be needed to open the door of time, can't think of better protection than that.

I'm in agreement that the Ocarina seems to be a key, but one kept as a safeguard by the Royal Family. That way, one could not enter the SR without their consent, even if they suceeded in acquiring the stones. I would suspect the Ocarina was created for that very purpose when the Door of Time was created. The Master Sword seems to have been the 5th requirement, and probably the hardest to fulfill.

I have to agree with you as well on this, it would seem logical that there would be 4 keys to open the door of time, so 4 races are needed to hold the keys one for each main region (Hylian, Deku, Zora, Goron).

Also i think the 3 stones were forged to correspond to the 3 creature races of Hyrule and they would worship each Stone as a relic of the region.

the three stones are the lock but before it can be opened they must all be brought together the ocarina is the key to the lock and other things, each race of hyrule that allies the royal family other than the sheikah were each given a part of the lock to protect the gateway to the triforce, the royal family kept the key which was the most important part. if these four objects were damaged or one was lost than the triforce would never be reached by andy mortal. at least thats the explanation i could come up with... iunno maybe im right

The Master Sword isn't required to get into the spiritual realm, if you remember Ganondorf simply forced his way in after the door of time was opened.

and if you notice the spiritual stones were all given to the people of the corresponding elements zoras have the sapphire which i assume is water
gorons have the ruby which is fire and gorons are fire because they live up on death mountain and in tp the one goron boss is a fire elemental plus darunia is the fire sage like ruto is the water sage and the emerald which is the element of forest is given to the forest ppl of the forest temple saria is the forest sage also notice that farore gave life to the creatures and life is forest as well so the emerald is hers nayru created the sky, sky is blue water reflects sky so she also made water which is the element of her stone and din is pretty obvious she created the land carving it out of molten earth which is the element of fire and earth so her stone is the fire element given to the ppl of fire and earth the gorons.

what qualifies a 'civil' race? wouldn't the gerudos be civilized since they have a civilization and customs?
