Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

Ocarina of Time. In my opinion, Majora's Mask had more depth with all of the sidequests..but Ocarina of Time just seemed to be much bigger, more enjoyable, larger..I guess that's it. o_O

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

They're both good in different ways.

OOT had a longer story, more temples/dungeons and had a few more places to explore.

MM had more character depth, slightly better graphics and an original storyline.

My overall vote goes to OOT though since I enjoyed that a lot more.

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

They are both phenominal games in my mind, I loved them both greatly, the only reason I preordered TWW was to get OoT again, and the only reason I got the Collector's Edition was for MM. But OoT was still better than MM, it had a greater effect on me, it is the greatest game ever made.

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

I think OoT is way better. I liked the story better, the medieval feeling was awesome also, and the overworld was beautiful. OoT is pure Zelda. Majora's Mask was good and all, but it had an uncomfortable feeling of unzeldaishness, if I may use the word.

Ocarina of Time, pure Zelda? I wouldn't say that. It seemed to trail off from the roots of The Legend of Zelda. The Wind Waker started to lead it back on track.

Majora's Mask was better imo. Better and original storyline, great gameplay features, practically all around better in my mind.

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

I loved how it went pretty deep in the plot. Not just the plot but character growth as well.
Besides... It has Oni-Link, and everyone knows Oni-Link is the best alter-ego form.
OoT is good as well, but I liked it for more of the dungons, and dungons, and dungons... oh and Epona!

...im torn between my love for mindless slaughter of monsters, and my love for plots.

Oot was way better. It was longer, more challenging and they tied up more of the loose ends.

I like Majora's Mask better. It was the perfect difficulty and the mask system was awesome. You could fight with 5 diffrent Links!

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

Bleh, I'd have to say I really prefered OoT over MM.. If it weren't for the three day time limit, maybe I'd consider both to be....almost even.. But, I'm terrible at timed games, and I usually end up goofing around or exploring random places in Zelda games, so..it never worked out for me. xD Heck, I gave up after I got the Goron Mask, and never played it again.. O_o

Me = Weakling.. ;_;

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

OoT had a better storyline, and there wasn't a time limit hanging over your neck the whole time. That really annoys me. There just seems more of a story with OoT.

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

I really like MM better, I don't why exactly, but it had something, that OoT didn't. Maybe it was the time limit, the thrill of finishing something quickly. Or the charcter interaction, sure OoT had it, but not to the extent of MM. I do know MM only had about 5 dungeons, I count all the mini dungeons in the moon, the moon dungeon. Anyway, those four dungeons, could have equalled about 5 or 6 dungeons in OoT, because some of them were short, to me anyway. All in all, I like MM better

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

I believe that OoT was better, although MM came pretty darn close. The levels and items in OoT were better (Hookshot in MM looked really wierd) and there was more of Hyrule to explore. MM got kinda annoying whenever you'd restart the day and no one would remember you and you'd have to go do EVERYTHING over again. There just wasn't enough time. For me, a zelda game is exploring every bit of it - even in dungeons. You couldn't do that in MM. Also, it felt strange to me that Epona was the only REAL horse in MM (the gormon brothers were riding what looked like donkeys.)

I really liked the masks in MM, and if it weren't for the time limit (and the fact that the zora temple is REALLY hard), I'd say the games came about even. Although I did buy Collector's Edition mainly for MM. lol!

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

OoT & MM were too very awesome games, MM provided the more elaborate sidequests, and had an ordinal storyline and the mask system was the main plus, it had better graphics and character design, as for OoT it had a massive plot evolving around other plots which became a part of the main if you know what I mean, and it was longer, so in conclusion OoT it has to be but the new LoZ GCN will totally obliterate all games and bring them soaring to there knees, Nintendo will show all of the other game companys how to make a great adventure and boy will they praise

Re: OoT vs MM: which is better?

OoT is well better than MM. The music and game play is just so much more enjoyable plus it sticks to Ganon and not Majora which I prefer anyw
