I don't have his song ,yet. I have encountered a new problem now. I finally have the longshot, but behind the big chest where the longshot was kept, there is a stone statue on the floor, it has the mark of time? I tried playing song of time on it, but it doesn't disappear. Um.. Isn't it supposed to disappear so that I can fall down into the bottom levels of the temple? Where the wirlpools are and such? So that I can get the master key and enter the boss room.

That's weird. The only thing I can say is make sure your not standing on it when you play the Song of Time.

Question about: Water Temple
Game: Ocarina of Time

Okay, I am now in a room with wirlpools, and rolling boulders. I get out of a room, and straight ahead of me is a river where a huge boulder is rolling. They come one at a time, with maybe 5-7 seconds inbetween, behind the boulder is a gold sculltula. Underneath the sculltula is a hole that I use the iron boots to jump down in and swim to the right, then I come to a door that is locked. I believe it is the room that has the master key to the boss, however I need a regular key to open it. The only problem is that I have none, and I've been in absolutely ALL the rooms in the temple, except the boss room and I can't seem to understand where that key is..

This temple is on a good way to give me a headache.

Re: Official N64 Zelda Help Thread

Check your map and compass. If I'm not mistaken, every key in the temple is in a treasure chest. Therefore, if there's a key you haven't found yet, it should most certainly show up on your map.

And just in case, here's one that people commonly miss the first time, myself included: Reduce the water level to zero enter the central column of the temple. Hookshot up and raise the water level - a floating platform from ground below should rise up with it. Now throw on your Iron Boots and jump into the water - there's a passage beneath where the floating platform was, so drop down. Solve the puzzles down there to get yourself a small key.

If you read any of the posts in here you would have seen that I have already found that one.
And only the big chests are shown on my map (the ones that held the compass, map and longshot). None of the key chests. Plus I've been in absolutely all the rooms before the boss room.

This site tells you where all the keys are in the Water Temple.

Clearly I didn't read those posts.

I have no idea what version of the game you're playing, but one feature is constant in all of them - every chest appears on the map once you have the Compass and disappears once you've opened them, regardless of whether they hold 5 rupees or the Boss Key. If you already have the map and compass, you shouldn't even be able to see the chests you found them in, as they will have disappeared from your map. Therefore, if there is a key you've missed, it is on your map.

However, I have heard that there was a game-breaking oversight in the Water Temple which makes it possible to miss a key entirely if you collect them in the wrong order or take the wrong route through the temple, rendering your game officially screwed and forcing you to start over from scratch or a previous save - the number of posts I've seen here complaining about that problem is quite high. Could be that you've done just that.

Well then, if it is as you say that only the unopened chests are shown, and I only see two (because I checked). That means it is the chest that holds the normal silver key and the one that holds the boss key? Only problem is that I have been in the room where that chest is supposed to be like two-three times now and I don't see anything o.O Killed monsters as well and nothing appears.
But I couldn't have done that glitch if I see those on my map? That should mean they're still there. I either suck tremendously or I am blatantly missing out on something..

Re: Official N64 Zelda Help Thread

Yes, one of them is the Boss Key, and you should notice that it's in the room behind the locked door you're trying to get through. The other one is in all likelihood your small key.

The glitch basically makes it impossible to reach one of the chests containing a small key, thus trapping you forever in the Water Temple.

See if you can point out where on that map your chests are (edit it in Paint or something and upload it), and I'll see if I can figure out what needs to be done.

Re: Official N64 Zelda Help Thread

I marked the rooms that have the chests with a green dot.

My entire map is blue too, so I have been in the room, but I haven't found the last key.
(one of them is obviously the master one)

Re: Official N64 Zelda Help Thread

I have your solution here:

First, go down the passage marked by the red arrow, and you should see a movable block embedded in the wall in front of you. Pull it out as far as you can, then go back and use your Longshot to get back out.

Next, make sure you've drained the water level to at least halfway, then go to the area marked by the green arrow. Use your bow on the eye switch to raise the grate and quickly Longshot through before it closes. Go along the corridor and you'll be see the block you pulled out of the wall from the other side. Push it as far as you can, then go into the chamber that you just unblocked to claim your last key from the chest. The other chest on your map is of course the Boss Key.

That should solve your problem. Enjoy the boss.

I found it now! I can't believe that I totally overlooked and ignored that eye and those bars.. Wow. Anyway, the boss of the Water Temple was extremely easy. Almost a shame for a third boss, could almost compare it with Queen Gohma.

Thanks to everyone who gave me a hand! I appreciate it.

Don't mention it.

Thing about Dark Link and Morpha is that they're only hard if you fight them the way they were intended to be fought. Dark Link takes more than a bit of skill to take down with just the sword and shield, but using the Hammer or Din's Fire will make short work of him. Same goes for Morpha - people tend to fight him from the edge of the pool. Try fighting him from the four platforms in the middle of his pool and I guarantee you that you'll change your mind. It's for this reason that the Water Temple is one of my favourite ever Zelda dungeons.

I did kill link with a sword and shield, i stuck the sword right forward towards his belly, it wasn't always he blocked those. As for Morpha, it did get me two times, but eventually I found out that when it does that thing with the water, I could run away from it, and after it goes up from the water, I ran back towards it and dragged it up on dry land. It was my first time for both of them so I had no idea that hiding in corners would make you safe before after I killed it and saw YouTube videos. I simply ran in the other direction when it was ready to grab me. Rather that than having it grab me. Besides it took me 6 hearts before I understood how to get away.

When I said easy is that it did the same attack over again. It didn't seem like it had any special moves, and after only 4-5 hits it died.

Now I'm in the Shadow temple too, which I'm not sure I dare to finish. Wallmaster/Floormaster scares the **** out of me xD

Re: Official N64 Zelda Help Thread

shroom in MM? hmm only two spots that I can think of, 1 somewhere in the same square of forest where you find and save that witch(forgot which witch that needed saving). 2 In one of the Inns rooms you find some boxer shorts, the shroom spot is right where the boxer shorts are.

I think you need the Mask of Scent to see the purple cloud(which represent where the shroom is) and to but it into a bottle.

Re: Official N64 Zelda Help Thread

in order to get the Mask of Scent you must first beat the boss of Woodfall temple, and deliver the princess to her father. Then talk to the butler, if he is not in the throne room, then walk out of the palace pass the two guards and take the lily pads to the right where it should led you to the cave, if not then you took the wrong lily pad path. Inside talk to the butler and agree to race with him(really you just need to keep up), once you get to the end he gives you the mask. Please take arrows with you as I think there will be one case where you will need to shoot a crystal switch. Also having the Bunny Hood Mask would help you a lot.

I am REALLY stuck in the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time. After I got the Fairy Bow, somehow I got killed or whatever. Then I remembered the room with eye before the twisted hallway so I decided to shoot an arrow at it. I got the boss key... But I haven't killed the Poe Sisters in the stairway. What do I do!!?? D:

Can someone help me?

I've been stuck in the Water Temple for months. I think I screwed up and can never reverse it!
Okay, the water level is up to the top, but I don't have a key to open that one door! And I don't know what to do! I've tried to find a way to lower the water level. I can't find it, and I don't have the Longshot yet.
Someone, please help!
