Re: Favourite part in OoT/MM from an artistic standpoint?

In each game the final battle is the best part because its most often the best one and means you're almost done.

Therefore my answer would be the battle with ganondorf. It was original and fun and still difficult.

Re: Favourite part in OoT/MM from an artistic standpoint?

I would have to say Stone Tower/Ikana Canyon is my favourite overall location, with springtime Snowhead coming in second.

In OoT, my favourite was Kakarikio Village, and the surrounding dungeons (Bottom of the Well, Shadow Temple.)

Re: Favourite part in OoT/MM from an artistic standpoint?

My favourite place from an artistic point of view in either games is the meadow in the moon in MM. I mean I didn't know what to expect when I went in there, and to be greeted with such a pleasant looking place, with those children asking such bizarre questions, was unsettling in the best way.

the sun rising over clocktown, and hearing the morning tune, while watching people begin exiting buildings and pacing the streets.

Re: Favourite part in OoT/MM from an artistic standpoint?

ok..discovered this thread. From an artistic standpoint: One thing that I thought made the biggest impact was the music, particularily from OoT, each and every last song was a masterpiece. Zelda's Lullaby's haunting tune captured the beauty and wisdom of Zelda herself, Saria's Song captured the vibrance of the forest. The warping songs as well, each and every tune fit the location it led to. The Bolero of Fire seemed to convey the heat of the volcano, as well the passion of heart it described. The Serenade of Water described the peace and grace of water..I have yet to see a video game soundtrack so appropriate.
In terms of art work and scenery: Lake Hylia was so beautiful, and I always appreciated the sky, how vibrant it was, and how the tone changed hour to hour. Moreso in OoT. Even though the graphics are superior in newer games, these n64 set a high standard.

Re: Favourite part in OoT/MM from an artistic standpoint?

The whole OoT game was a work of art unto itself. The music, even if it had that "midi" sound to it, was still wonderful. One of my favorite pieces is the music that accompanies the Gerudo Fortress and Desert areas.

For MM I think Clocktown was done really well, full of life. My fav part is west Clocktown, It just looks brilliant.

As for OoT; I'd say Lake Hylia. For the ol' N64 this area was stunning and raised the bar I think.
