Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
Still, if a child killed someone/something, don't you think that he/she/it isn't really worthy of even jokingly called a god.

Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
I like this theory a lot. It all corresponds perfectly. People build tower, mock the god, The god gets pissed, ruins their lives by turning tower upside down, curses their lands, people end up building a tower that ironically leads them to hell, they find majora, they worship majora, Majora's evil spirit is freed. yadeyadeyada...

Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
I really can't find the sense in this. You've just found one single item, and gone up from there. You could have gone to the witches hut and then said..
"Hey.. Witches are evil. They are defying the gods by performing magic, and they may have summoned Majora out of hell through these means. This would explain why Majora/skullkid came back and assaulted one of the witches." There's just no proof of what you are saying like there is with other theories.

It's not one single item. There are two very different elements of the Stone Tower that imply the same message. Taking both of those things into account, I don't think my theory is too unlikely or groundless.

Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
This gives me an extremely creepy feeling about Majora's Mask. I mean this is thoroughly bothering me. The game gives me shivers now.. it offends something inside of me. I don't know, but.. I believe you.. it's too much information, too detailed, and it fits together too well do be made up.
I was about to play MM again, but I don't think I can now, without vomiting. *shivers* Edit: You know... this goes much deeper than mockery of the "goddesses", they are mocking the Holy Trinity, representing The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The triforce is the upside-down image of that.

Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
The 'Three Goddesses', as they're called, are BASED off of the Trinity.
Power of the Father Courage of the Son Wisdom of the Spirit Was I the only one getting that? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As per Majora's Mask giving you the willies, That's what the game's supposed to do, I've known it from the start.

Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
If iremember correctly, the three goddesses flooding hyrule to remake the corrupt world that had formed. Does this have anything to do with the Noahs Ark story where god floods the world to remove the evil things.
Also, does the tower of the gods in WW have anything to do with the stone tower, maybe the flooded area covers Hyrule and Termina - its big enough!!!!!

It also stressed the importance of forgiveness. Skull Kid was lured into serving a Satan-like demon who abandoned his "puppet" when it was no longer useful. Link played a role similar to Christ, defeating the demon and saving the world in three days, and forgiving Skull Kid.

He's not comparing Link directly to Christ, just using it as a metaphor and listing similarities between the story and the Bible. If you want to get all biblical about it, think of MM as a parabel

Re: Stone Tower of Babel: Why Termina was Doomed
I've expanded my theory a bit - I think I can see how the Giants play into it now.
Kaepora Gaebora called the Giants guardian deities. In Anju's Grandmother's story, "The Four Giants," the beings are referred to as Giants. Early in Termina's history, the Skull Kid entered the world, became friends with the Giants, and was hurt when they left. He started to spread mischief because of his pain, and the Giants drove him out of Termina and according to the legend he returned to the heavens, which were most likely what the people called Hyrule, since the Skull Kid ended up back in Hyrule. The people were so grateful that they began to worship the Giants as if they were gods. Granny's other story, "The Carnival of Time," which comes from a later period in Termina's history, refers to the Giants exclusively as gods... but they weren't gods. The goddesses must have made themselves known to Termina, since the ancient people had knowledge of the Triforce, but the Terminians refused to acknowledge that there were beings greater than the Giants. It's possible they even associated the goddesses with the imp, because of their connection with Hyrule. In any case, the people loved the Giants and chose to worship only them, and they rejected the goddesses. It's likely that the Giants' masculinity and the goddesses' femininity played into this... the people might not have wanted to think that some female entities were greater than the Giants. So they built statues depicting the Giants mocking the Triforce. (If you look at the Stone Tower gate, that figure has a beard similar to the beards of the Giants. The temple entrance strongly resembles the face of a Giant as well.) They built the Stone Tower to tell the goddesses that Termina didn't want them, that the Giants were the ultimate beings in that land. At the top of the tower they built four phallic pillars to... reinforce the message. And Nintendo put a pointing hand next to one of the pillars so that teenagers playing the game would have a chance at catching that implicit message.

I thought as much...
Very good, by the way... I wish I had that sort of ability when it came to telling people my theories.

Examples......... Baten Kaitos The god was toppled by a variety of oddballs, including a blond teenager in puffy pants, a floating imp child with a goofy mask, and a shirtless fisherman witha paddle. Shadow Hearts/Shadow Hearts Covenant In the first game, a girl with book, a sexy spy, and street urchin with a slingshot took down the god. In the second game, a variety of fallen angels were slaughtered by a bratty princess and a clockwork egg, a belly dancing fortune teller, and an OAP with a doll. Final Fantasy X All it took to destroy an immortal blob monster was a spunky girl hotpants, a brooding woman with purple lipstick and her plushie collection, and a very annoying blonde jock. What have we learned today children? Anyone can destroy God, provided their heart/hair/sword/eyes/rack is big enough. Preferably all of the above.
