Is Fado related to Mido? (No, not tWW Fado)

You guys know that girl who is in the LWs after you go to get the medicine for the guy by the stump? The one who says everyone turns into a Stalfos? Well I read somewhere that not only is her name Fado originally, she was supposed to be Mido's sister and take Saria's spot in the story as Link's friend. I'm wondering, does anybody know if this is true? And why do you think they replaced her with Saria?

I heard this girl was his sister, so yes, I think she is related to him. And they probably replaced her with Saria for technical reasons maybe. Like they wanted the horse back sword fighting in TP in OoT too, but they couldn't for technical reasons.

And besides, if they did keep girl Fado as the sage, then who'd be in the Lost Woods to give you the Poacher's Saw after giving her the odd potion?

I knew this girl was called Fado, having been told so on ZU, when I first joined.

But when you told me on MSN that such a minor character, was originally going to such a crucial character, I was pretty shocked. Now that I think about it, I always thought it was pretty odd, considering compared to the other Kokiri, she is one of the only ones who got her own character model, and a pretty unique looking one at that. Nearly all the other Kokiri sharet theirs. The female ones look like the Twins, and the male ones look like the Know It All Boys. She also is one of the only Kokiri to have her own art.

I guess maybe they came up with her concept and character design, and rejected it? I think perhaps they wanted a less feminine looking design (She is the most feminine looking of the Kokiri), and replaced her design with the more tomboyish Saria (short hair as opposed to bunches, shorts as oppposed to a dress.) But I think a sister would explain Mido's dislike of Link more, if he wants to protect his sister. But Saria replaced this as a love interest figure

I had no idea a kokiri whose naem is never even metnioned, would have been Link's best friend/crush, Mido's sister and Sage of the Forest, and would have had an Ocarina Song/and a popular Zelda theme named after her. And would have had a stained glass window in TWW. It's strange how she ended up being one of the most obscure, unimportant characters in Zedla, from such a crucial role.

It's kind of strange, thinking about how different thigns woudld be, if Saria never existed, and Fado was in her place. Fado's Song......ect.

Fado was supposed Mido's sister and she was suposed to have Saria's role, but that got changed in the final released version. I forgot where i read that though.

still in the final version, if you where curtain masks, she threatens to tell Mido.

I haven't played OoT in a year. But I have bee in the past two days and got that saw today! What do I do with it?

Man, I never knew any of this. Her name is Fado, she's Mido's sister, and she was originally supposed to be Sage of Forest. I did notice her uniquness, but never tried masks though. You learn new things every day.

You'd think they would have made a Behind the Rupees or Articles thing on this...

Wow! Great find, WinderWake! Saves. It looks like she was sitting on top of the Kokiri store, instead of standing on top of the walkway. Her face is totally different now. And her outfit too.

And I noticed the mask too. She likes some, but not others. She seems to be a little bit afraid or embarassed of Mido.
If you were the Keaton Mask, she says soemthing like: "That's great!.......don't tell Mido I said that."

Or if you wear the skull mask, she gets upset, and says: "Waaaaah! I'm going to get Mido to beat you up!"

someone mentioned a stain glass window of saria, i think, in TWW, just where is that?

In Hyrule Castle, where you find the Master Sword, there is a stained glass window of each of the Six Sages, with the symbol of each of their races (Saria's shows her standing smiling in lush foliage, with the Kokri's emerald above her.) I think there are also six suits of armour, or seven, because each of the sages were kind of like the knights of Hyrule.....

oh, i saw those but i didn't think the sage of the forest looked all that much like saria, i only recognised the Gerudo sage

Hmmm? I thought they made Nabooru and Ruto look a bit fugly in their glass windows, but I thought Saria looked adorable.

Yeah, that's the pic I've seen. She seems to almost have Saria's face too. But of course, all the Kokiri seem to look alike, so who knows.

no its not just you. it does look like she is wearing a uniform. she looks almost like a feminie Link. and i also found the stained glass windows. the only one that I think that didn't look like the sage was Ruto.

Wow. I didn't even know she had a name.. though it's true that she is the only one with her design... (I always wondered about, what's up with her and grog-the dude sleeping in the woods???).. And do you also notice that both mido and 'fado' is in the forest at the same time. (Adult )
