A question about the Master Sword...

I have a question,I was wondering what the yellow gem on the Master Sword was.I think it might have to do with the power to repel Evil,but I am not sure.Please tell me what you think.Thank you!

You may be right because in the Wind Waker before you restore the Master Sword it looks like this.



Then when you restore it the yellow jem becomes visable.

It's probably the source that gives the Master Sword the power to repel evil. It could also just be for decoration, but I don't think it is.

I just think it's a gem to make the Master Sword look cooler...

I hadn't realized that the little yellow jewel had been a part of the MS from the start.

i think that gem is the thing that repels evil actually.Because in WW when you first get it its not there but when you get all of the triforce shards it is there!

with my windwaker copy.... the gem is red... Same as my OoT, I swear on it!!!!!!!

Hmmm Yeah This is a very intresting Topic. I mean what really makes Master Sword Evils bane, what gives it that edge against evil. The Yellow Gem could be the key, as people have said in several Zeldas it gains the Yellow Gem after Link earns the Master Sword.

Prehaps the Gem gives the blade its power, but then thats a fairly lame excuse. I mean that would throw up dozens of questions.

Where was the Gem From?
Who made It?
Whats It Made Of?
What Happens if You Remove The Gem? etc etc.

Just a suggestion.

I'd agree with the whole WW theory about the gem being the source of the power to repel evil. As for the color, that may have just come from the evolution of the sword itself. Because, as you all know the final version of the master sword in ALttP was the Golden Sword so the yellow color may have come out of or from that. Kinda like the evolution of silver arrows to light arrows. Its just a guess. Who knows? It may just be for adornment.

I thought some more about it and it seems to be more likely that the yellow gem on the WW Master Sword came from the yellow/gold diamond just above the crosstrees (guard) of the OoT Master sword. That diamond however, may have come from the golden sword. Also in the upcoming TP the diamond looks to be at is original location. One more little thing; Maybe the master sword changes depending Link's age?

Its probibly just me seeing things differently.... Its probibly yellolw just me making asumptions.... But Im almost certain my WW one is red!
