Twinrova

I just faced Twinrova recently in OOT. When I targeted one of them in their split form, it says that they are Ganondorf's surrogate mother. Surrogate means replacement or substitute. Why did Ganondorf need a replacement mother? What happened to his real mother? If Twinrova helped to raise him, why do they take orders from him now that he is an adult? It seems like Ganondorf should be in their debt.

No one knows who Ganondorf's mother really is (nor is it ever mentioned in any Zelda game). Whoever she is though, she has to be a Gerudo. Ganondorf should be in debt to Twinrova, but he isn't. Besides, when did Twinrova say she was taking orders from Ganondorf? She is merely aiding him. You can aid someone without having being told orders.

Ganondorf is the King of Evil, mothers still have to obey their king. Correct?

I see what you mean. They probably are just aiding Ganondorf. I wonder what their reasons could be though. Do they want Ganondorf to control the world? I guess they could get "royal" benefits. They seem like the type that wants all power for themselves.

I think they're meant to raise the male Gerudo so they will become fearsome warriors. It's just a guess but maybe all males are taken from thier mothers to be raised to be leaders. Perhaps Twinrova is the one who must do this, they're over 300 years old, this means they've been around to see a fair few Gerudo Kings, including Ganondorf, perhaps they raised them as well.

Plus Ganondorf is sort of aiding them, he was expanding thier land and trying to put them in control after all. Well actually he was putting himself in control but that still makes the Gerudo more powerful.

I'm going to agree with a lot of what has been said here. We don't know much about Gerudo customs, so if the king is taken from the mother always, or if she died in childbirth or something we'll never know, unless Ganondorf reveals some more of his past in a future game, one that focuses more heavily on the Gerudo. But, Twinrova is guarding the Spirit Temple, the sacred temple of the gerudo, so special that it is guarded by a massive desert, if you get past the numorus guards leading to the town first. This means that Twinrova is almost ruling the Gerudo in the place of Ganondorf while he takes over the world. That would almost place them at #2 on his spot. Not bad for a serrogate mother. Of course, in the oracle series, Twinrova is trying to reveive ganon, so, it seems that they like him a lot.

I think that they are just minions. kind of like High priests. These gal's are HIGH in the ranks maybe they dont have to take orders, but still have to show alliegence to Ganondorf~

The twinrova raised Ganondorf, because his mother died. that's whats a surrogate mother. They do want him to rule the land because they will gain some benefits. Once Ganondorf is grown up even his surrogate mothers become minions, hehehe. and why does someone need more than one mother?

Maybe when he was brought up they were in that one Gerudo Chick mode.....

I know that it said gannondorf has a mother but does he have a father I mean you never here about it and if so was it a gerudo who is the father?

A Gerudo male is born every one hundred years. Wouldn't it be kind of hard to have children when you're 100 years old (if you're even still alive)? Then again, we don't know exactly how long a Gerudo can live. We never really know about Ganondorf's mother (it is never mentioned in any game at all. Ever.). It may even be possible that Ganondorf is half Hylian.

Actually, he could be Link's half-brother. Well, i think the gerudos cant have kids without a man and when you're 100, well... did they have Viagra at Hyrule? kidding the pure-gerudo race wouldn't exist if their males didn't have the ability to reproduce even on the oldest ages humans can achieve. And its said the gerudos hate men.

I think...not sure what to say. If you notice they have that thingy jewel on their heads like Ganondorf. Probably they are his "mothers" as in guardians or something.

I don't know more than she's a Gerudo...

Doesn't it seem awkard that Gerudos are all women...and only one man every 100 years.

We don't know what the Gerudo tribe started out as. No doubt there was a male in the beginning though (otherwise the enitre Gerudo tribe wouldn't exsist). If a male Gerudo is born every one hundred years, who says two Gerudo men can't live at the same time? Once the male Gerudo is born, he probably has a lot of repopulating to do...

I thought Gerudo women went to Hyrule town to get boyfriends, and that's how they reproduce. Of course, all the babies are female, expect once every hundred years...
