Kaepora

This thread is about Kaepora Gaebora, second thread recordist, losing only to Sheik! Well, the fact here is that are so many speculations on what he is, whether he is Rauru's incarnation, the Deku tree, or Navi's crush...
An interessing information i have is that in brazilian folklore an imp called Kaipora is said to roam the woods and forests and protect the nature. it's also said to hunt down poachers.
However this imp is not a bird. I think it can assume many forms but i'm not sure.
Any ideas/stuff to discuss about Kaepora Gaebora are welcome in this thread.

Ok first try not to use yellow. Very hard to read. Second how can Kaepora be Rauru's Reincarnation? That would mean that before Link was born Rauru had to exist and then been killed to be reincarnated. But then Kaepora was killed and he just happens to reincarnate into his original incarnation. It's impossible.

That, ZeldaXX3, has ALWAYS confused me. You're not alone. And yet, this is apparently an official statement, as far as I know. What I'm guessing is that "reincarnation" was simply a poor choice of words on their part, since "reincarnation" implies that Rauru died at some point and became Kaepora, or that perhaps Kaepora died and became Rauru. But as we can see, Rauru is a very old man.

Consider maybe that rather than being Rauru's reincarnation, he was just a plain old incarnation. Rauru, being bound to the Light Temple, using a different physical form to follow Link throughout the world while simultaneously performing his duties as a Sage. A projection of sorts. Something like that.

We'll then that wouldn't be his reincarnation. It would be more along the of Rauru's means of teathering himself to the real world. And Xel there is no light temple. It's the temple of time. Because the sages have no means of communicating with anyone before they have awoken as a sage. But why would Keapora be Rauru. It could be Zelda or just a crazy bird. Seriously, I have always hated him.

XD; Whether you hate him or not, I think it may be an official thing that Rauru and Kaepora are one and the same. Unless someone can prove that they aren't, in which case... well, there's no real need to try and rationalize it.

In fact I believe that Kaepora is the reincarnation of the Deku tree. because it appears after it dies, they look alike and Kaepora means guardian of the forest in indigen language!
Besides i believe(not sure) that kaepora gaebora means something like "reincarnation of the guardian of the forest"!

Well "Kae" in japanese means change or alteration and bora means...Mullet... So we know it's the alteration of someone and that it has a mullet...

Yes there is. It says in OoT that the Light Temple is at the very center of the Sacred Realm.

yes. it says the light temple is in the center of the sacred realm, that is within the temple of time. If i recall correctly. i dont see what it has to do with Kaepora

"Reincarnation of an Ancient Sage". Rauru is the only ancient sage we see in OOT. So it's safe to assume that Kaepora Gaebora is in fact Rauru.

Genius. We see kaepora when link's adult( spirit temple) and that would mean Rauru is in the sacred realm and flying around at the same time. To be a reincarnation, one must die and then reincarnates, i'm spiritualist so i know it. It would be impossible, really...

Rauru may or may not have been deceased in OOT. Since he's a sage, don't you think Rauru could control his new, reborn body in Hyrule, as well as his spiritual self in the Sacred Realm? Then again, it might have been an entirely other sage. The other theory seems a bit far-fetched, but it's possible. Ethier way, Kaepora Gaebora IS (or was) a sage.

I gotta agree with this last statement. However he doesn't need to be a temple sage.
And one person has only one spirit and can't be in two places at once(be it phisically or spiritually), due to having reincarnated. So the owl can be Rauru's transformation, but not his reincarnation. And this gossip stone is in the lost woods right? So... gossip stones tell gossip from the area they are located(usually). And it tells you that. I think the deku tree died and reincarnated into the owl Kaepora. After all he was the guardian of the forest, or wasn't he? NOTE: the above is speculation of mine, over a gossip(gossip is gossip), so dont take it as the truth.

Its an advice owl i think its the king the dude who gave you the light madallion.

I heard from a Gossip Stone that he is a reincarnation of an ancient sage. Also, when you awaken in the Temple of Light, Rauru tells you that he is an ancient sage. Put two and two together, and you end up with two of the creators of the Master Sword, Temple of Time, or whatever! Didn't they say that ancient sages created the Temple of Time? I can't remember...

KG can't be Rauru, due to the use of the word reincarnation. In TMC, Ezlo was a great Minish Sage, yet he didn't guard any temple or anything, he was just an inventor. There's a definition of Sage on dictionary.com:
