Wind Waker for N64???

When u play elegy of emptyness in MM to copy yourself, the statue of human Link looks strangely cartoony... Could this be a sprite of Link from a previous game to be realeased, but was cancelled? A cartoony game for the N64? It could have been that they were originally going to make the Wind Waker for the N64, but stopped because of the graphical limitations? What do you think?

I don't really believe that Nintendo would stoop that low to even consider it.

Re: Wind Waker for N64???

Something tells me you guys failed to read the first post.

Well, ok, I think I recall Miyamoto saying that he wanted Link to show all kinds of emotions and for the characters to be full pf personality. Obviously the hardware was limited at the time so it wasn't possible. This has been confirmed.

As for them orginally intending to develop WW on the N64? No way. They MAY have tried to get something grphically similiar to WW with OoT and MM, but I doubt the game it self was ever planned for the N64.

I read the first post, and I think if there hadn't been so many graphic limitations that we might actually have seen a cartoonish LoZ.

I agree that maybe they put that in there as a little sign that a game that Link looks like that will eventually come out, but when I first played the Elegy of Enptiness with Link I thought he looked strange but cool!

You happen to see these kind of things in almost every game, a little taste of what may contain the next game (if they make one).

The fighting is almost exactly the same as far as mechanics.

Re: Wind Waker for N64???

I would'nt say that they first planned on putting it on the N64, I would'nt get myself to believe that,
but what I do believe is, maybe they looked back on the previous games just to get ideas, and they got it from that, but I don't think they planned on making it before the gamecube.
That's just how I theorize it, I'm sortof just ..guessing.

Re: Wind Waker for N64???

Nah, because if they did that there would be no good Zelda games for the Gamecube except for Twilight Princess.

Re: Wind Waker for N64???

i think that when you play elegy of emptyness it makes a copy of you, but not an exact copy. The graphics are the same for both the copy and your character but there are some differenses, link looks really scary for example. But the character that you place behind is it not the exact image of the person you got the mask from? If you think about it when you get the masks and put them on you look nothing like them. So yeah i dont think it was a cartoon verison of Zelda.

Re: Wind Waker for N64???

If they made a game using Link's clone design, I think I'd die. That clone looks scary.

They may have been planning TWW for N64 but stopped because of graphical limitations, but I doubt they were planning on using that clone's style for graphics.

Re: Wind Waker for N64???

It's purely coincidence that the two Links seem even remotely similar to you. I honestly don't see how they're similar. The Elegy of Emptiness clone is far more creepy than people make Link from The Wind Waker out to be.
