Majoras Mask

I recently had a deep conversation with one of my other, massive zelda fan friend; and according to him majoras mask "sucked" and that it was the worst zelda game ever, but he isn't the only one i have heard this from: Alot of people who i have spoken to also think that majoras mask is the worst game in the Zelda series. I really enjoy majoras mask and the only reason i could fault it for is that it is simply to difficult with the time pressure added and all the little extras.
What do you people think?

I loved MM. The time won't be an issue if you slow it down.

I thought it was a good game. I know someone who said he'd never beaten it because the whole time thing annoyed him. He also abandoned Wind Waker during the Triforce hunt, too.

I agree with fionabee - I didn't find the time part to be any trouble, especially when I learnt to slow it down. I think Majora's Mask was a great concept and it was certainly a fantastic game. Not as good as OoT, but definitely my second favourite Nintendo 64 game!

Well maybe he dosen't like the game for a reason. I mean he can't just say it sucks and not back it up. So if he does have one then post it.

Majoras mask is a great game but then again its sad all things you have done gets back to normal like when the snow melt at snowhead becuase sooner or later the time goes back.

Ilearned it the first time I got permently turned back into link just talk to the scarecrow in the tradeing post but don't dance with him and he'll ask do you want to learn a mysterious song?

I liked that game....it's one of my favorites.
IDK people have their own opinions, it's kinda like people when it comes to food. There are just some things things that people can't stand to eat, their taste buds were made that way. it's the same way with a game. Some people's brains don't like that way a game is made, and that's just life.
I like it, you like it, a lot of people like it, so that's all that matters.

If there wasn't a time-constraint, I would have utterly hated Majora's Mask. The time-constraint is what makes it my favorite title in the series, to be completely honest with you. It forces you to use critical thinking and to methodically work your way through the dungeons and scenarios leading up to them. I plan to play the game through without using the Inverted Song of Time, just to increase the challenge factor.

They should add more time-constraints to other Zelda games (perhaps just time-limits for first-runs through certain dungeons, or something along those lines). That's what made the game fun.

Majora's mask is a GREAT game!i cant see how anyone could not like it! in fact, i love it when the companies decide to experiment and make a series edition of a different colour. sometimes they screw it up. somtimes they should never have bothered. but more often than not, they succeed! If i could, i would rewind time and once again enjoy the thrill of playing Majora's mask for the first time...

Gold-Triforce, I'm sorry, but I agree with your friend. I thought MM was the worst too. So much I didn't like about it. The dungeons, Tingle, some of the masks not having much use, the time limit being a tad bit annoying, and I can go on forever.

i'm pretty sure all of ZU dissagres with me but i also think that MM is the worst zelda game, even though it was okay.

Before I graduated from high school, a lot of my friends were all raving over the TP trailers. We were all talking about it and stuff, but then someone brought up a question asking what our favorite Zelda game was...

Out of... I believe 4 or 5 of us, all but 1 said Majora's Mask.
Funny, Majora's Mask was the favored out of our little discussion. Sometimes after, this lil 7th grader brought his OOT to school and I was wondering why the frig he brought a game to school???
He was with his lil 7th grader buddies and they were all telling me off. So the kid with the OOT game asked if I liked OOT. I said it was ok, but I preferred MM. And ironically, pretty much all of the other kids had the same opinion.

MM was the favored game out of most of the people I talked with. I never asked why, but I think me and them share the same understanding

I have always been of the opinion that people who dislike the time constraints would have found the game to be "too easy" if they had not been added.

Indeed. I found that the Time system used here was awesome and ingenuous. It's great to actually see people having schedules (restricted of course because of what they're going to do on those exact days) and how what you do affects on coming days.

MM was a great game, i loved the timelimit, if you know the song its not hard to get things done if you know what your doing. I once did the skulltula house near the great bay, defeated the Snowhead mountain's boss, got a powderkeg, raced the gorons and won, went to Romani Ranch saved it all before the dawn of the second day. so to me the timelimit isnt all that much of a problem. besides i love being able to do that kind of stuff over again

I have one question:

If MM is the "worst" Zelda game ever, then why is "Oni-Link" considered to be the "best" single-game Zelda character ever?

I thought Majora's Mask was a very good game. I didn't really care about the time when I knew you could slow it down. And I loved just screwing around riding Epona.
