Disscussion of OOT: Cartrage versions.

Now, I'm trying to figure out which version of OOT I have, and all of the information on the internet can be confusing. For instance, they say that the Muslim chanting in the Fire Temple and the Gerudo symbol of the Islam religion had been fixed in version 1.2, and I have all of that, meaning I thought I had V 1.0 or 1.1.BUT, they also say that what the Gerudo archery lady says to you determines the version. THAT says I have V 1.2. What? I'm trying to do the Swordless Link glitch without all of the "Sword Ocarina" stuff, so this is imperitive.

Here's what I know so far:

There is chanting in the Fire Temple.
The Gerudo symbol is a cresent moon, with a very small star between the two disconnected edges.
I have not yet tried the swordless Link glitch, as I am not yet at Ganon's castle.
It is NOT the Gamecube version, for those who think I am just plain stupid.
It is a grey cartrage.
The Gerudo archer says "Do you want to try for 10 rupees?", diolog that only one site I've seen so far says is only in V 1.2.
The N logo at the start is shiny.

Here's what I want to know:

Is there more than one Fire Temple chant, because mine and my friend's sound different, or were the chants removed completly from the games?
Are grey V 1.0 cartrages rare or common?
Is there any surefire way to tell cartrage versions apart?(without DeBugging, I had to pay my friend 200$ in 00' cause I broke his N64 with Crooked Cartrage)

I have a grey 1.0 cartridge, that are rare.

EDIT: Yeah, there are 2 different chants in the fire temple.

What are the different things the Gerudo girl asks? I've been wondering this as well.

Wait, does that mean that the Gerudo symbol and Fire Temple theme weren't fixed untill the Collector's Edition? Why didn't they fix it in 1.2 if they almost got sued on that topic?

P.S. Is there Red Ganon blood in V 1.2?

If she asks: "Do you want to try for 20 Rupees?" you have Version 1.2

EDIT: No, there's not red blood on 1.2, only on 1.0 and in some cases on 1.1.

Meh, at least I still have an early version of MM. Sadly, the only difference is that man eating flowers are red and have blood on their teeth.

P.S.S. About Majora's Mask, did you have to preorder it to get a gold copy, like OOT?

I had Majora's Mask bought from the store the day after it came out, and I got a gold cartridge. It wasn't preordered, so I'll guess that you don't have to preorder it to get a gold one. I think maybe you had to be one of the first to buy it to get a gold cartridge, but I'm just guessing here. I'm interested to know, however, if anybody can answer this.

Ocarina of Time I got second hand and it's a gold cartridge, too. I don't know what version I have though.

yea my first copy of MM was gold with the 3d effect thing and i bought it from the store... Then my second copy is the same.

You know i wonder what version of OoT i have, wel havent tried swordless link glitch, not sure about the fire temple or what the Gerudo says, i know the symbol is a cresent moon with a start, there is no red blood and the N is shiny.... hmm oh well.

all the first MM cartridges were gold and american versions of the game had the 3d hologram of link doing a sword spin. As far as i am aware to get the 3d hologram u had to order MM from amazon and have an american version sent over but i cud be wrong.

There was no lawsuit on either topic to my knowledge. The Arabic chant in the Fire Temple theme was removed in 1.2, but the Gerudo crescent was not removed until the GCN releases.

You have 1.2. The Gerudo symbol is an irrelevant indicator because it was only changed for the Gamecube versions of the game.

Gold cartridges are 1.0, always.

What do you mean by that???I didn't have to preorder OoT to get a gold copy...MM I got the game on release...So I dont know bout that.

Oh so i got a version 1.2 OoT and a version 1.0 MM?

Do you mean two different vocal chants, or that one is the synth chant? On my emulator ROM of the game (v1.0), the chanting sounds like real voices. On my GC version, the chant is the same tune but done by synth chords.

No, Tre, you don't have V 1.0 of MM. Nobody in America or Europe does. The Japanese version is version 1.0.

I still don't know what version of Oot I have.
I can't do sword-less Link trick without Ocarina fanciness.
Gerudo lady says, Do you want to try again...etc?
Fire Temple chanting is the second version.
I can still do the seam climbing glitch if that helps.

After reading all of this I am utterly confused as to which version I have...probably 1.2 though...

You can Seam-Walk in any version.
I have 1.0, 1.1 and NGC version of Ocarina of Time, wow.
And I have the NGC version of Majora's Mask.

Howdo you know for MM?
