Is there actually any point in getting the Hylian Loach?

I heard recently that upon getting the Hylian Loach, that it's released and goes back to the pond.
If that's the case, is a record of the weight kept or not?

If not, the only benefit of the Hylian Loach is 50 rupees... which speaks for itself.

Of course there is a point... its really fun to bring in the really big fish. Of course, I have never got the loach myself, but I still enjoy fishing immensly, if only for personal satisfaction

I think that the weight saves in your records, so you're not doing it all in vain.

I think you can unfreeze Zora's domain with it.

I was never aware of the Hylian Loach before, I just caught fish and never cared all that much about the size. I don't know why.
And am I the only one who felt a surge of guilt at fishing off the guy's hat?

There is no point to catching the Hylian Loach, I've caught it about 6 times. The fishing guy throws it back, he doesn't keep the record, all you get is some measly rupees.

I fish for the loach all of the time. It's great fun to go fishing in the game. The fishing part is just a great way to kill time.

No, it's not just wrong. It's also stupid, pointless, corrupt, possibly a joke...
Although if it is a joke it could've used a smilie to make it clear.(I got a lot of that back at Madgamers...)
Anyway, how do I tell the loach apart from the other fish? Is it just the size?

Well I read it here somewhere on this website.. I don't exactly remember... You wait outside the place where you fish and the second you here the cucco let out a crie to tell its morning you enter and its all foggy and stuff and when you catch it you do something.. I don't remember it was in the old forums...

That's when the Hylian Loach is easier to spot, when it's all foggy and stuff. And also I believe that's when you can find the sinking lure, which is what you have to use to catch it. And the way you can tell the Hylian Loach from the other fish is that the Hylian Loach looks like an eel.

The point of catching it is so you can do the only thing in Oot that you have never done before!!!!!!!! I HATE THAT LOACH!!!!!!!!!!!! The Loach is the only thing that i have not done yet and it is driving me mad, i just cant find the sinking lure.

I have found the sinking lure once and I have no idea how! I was just swimming to one of the trees and.. dadaa:confused:

I haven't found it eaither I look like crazy but never found it.. do you find it as a child or as an Adult?

I know that you have to be an adult to get it.

I spent AGES wandering around, looking for the sinking lure, but then I found out that you have to have caught a 20-ish pounder before you can find the lure.

that might explain why dont find it!

I've caught the 20 pound fish, ive done everything that people say im supposed too, and i still havent found it. I hate that Loach.

Rupees and brag to your friends i guess. I only got it once it was 30 pounds
