Oot What happened to the children?

This is a simple question. You know all the none story specific children you see as a child (the dampe boy, the cucco chasing girl etc). What the heck happens to them after Ganondorf takes over? They seem to be nowhere at all once you become an adult.

You really expect characters to be repackaged just because of such a dramatic change midway(more like a quarter, but meh) through the game? And what of the children? What about certain adults? Things change over time. Deaths, movings, and the like. The Carpenters, you ask? Well, they moved over to Gerudo Valley. Why stay in that cramped village their whole lives? And what of technical limitations? You can say the same for Gorons-- what of the females? Unseen characters? NO! EVERY CHARACTER HAS TO HAVE A PLAUSIBLE EXSISTENCE IN THE GAME BY IMAGE AND I WAKE UP AT NIGHT SWEATING AND BREATHING HARD, WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT POOR CUCCO CHASING GIRL!!!

In other words, you need not put so much thought into a game. Sorry, just had to say to vent.

Presumably they are either slaughtered, or fled from Hyrule. Ganondorf wouldn't make Hyrule all that hospitable of a place with monsters roaming everywhere. Why, they don't even know there's a hero out there working to save their butt's. They shall return, have no fear. Remember that everything rights itself in the end ^^.

The children grew up and are no longer children, they are different people who's looks have changed.

no no no, no character changed except for the main ones. the teens as young link are the exact same people and it appears, age, when adult link.

They're just... gone.

they are probably just charecters who are not really thought about in the process... but i would simply say the left hyrule, or something simple like that.

They are in the houses you can not open, or they jumped in Death Mountain, you pick, or maybe Ganon invited them to the Faery Ranch, you decide.

I think they all fled, but I dont think Nintendo would go into that much detail for the game when they play no part in the game. So dont worry they will be there somewere. Maybe they dont exist because Nintendo forgot to put them in

It would've meant making new models for their adult forms, so I think laziness played a part.

I dont think Nintende ment there to be an exact story some opf the character remian like the Guard near the Hyrule Catle draw bridge the one who wanted some "Fun" becomes the Poo collector etc

They were just incredibly minor characters that only served small roles, and weren't that entertaining.

Perhaps they needed to get rid of a few characters to up the ante on the amount of space they needed compared to child Link Hyrule... but in the long run a few characters wouldn't help that much graphics wise, and...

I think the girl got trampled by Ganondork and the boy probably was killed by a poe. Or they've moved to my theory land Anorathia (which is where Link came from in my terms)

I think that they are hiding in the lost woods waiting because its too dangerous to be outside or maybe because they know tht ganon would not look for them there cause he would get lost

the girl is still in kakariko and my presumption is that the boy was killed by the spirits of the shadow temple because he always liked to hang around the graveyard

Why don't you ask about the Stalchildren? They disappear as well. You'd have though in Ganon's reign that they would stay, or even multiply, but no. Where did they go? And don't say they became Stalfos because you fight one as a child in the Spirit Temple. It's just another mystery.

Sometimes you have to bend the rules of reality a bit in order to create a good game. Kid Link was surrounded by children because he was a child. Once he turns adult, the game is much darker, surrounding Link with a more mature prescence.
