Secret Cave at Zora's Fountain?!

I just found this today! I was in Zora's fountain, when I went over to the entrance to the Fairy cave and decided to pick up the gray boulder, which I'd never done. When I picked it up, there was a wierd rock imbedded in the ground, the top jutting out of the ground almost like a flower. Wondering why it was there, I blew it up with a bomb, and it revealed a strange hole in the ground. When I jumped down it...well...here are the screenshots I took of the Zora's domain skultula cave...







It's full of invisible skultulas that I had to see using the lens of truth. After getting past all of the spiders I found a ladder going straight up against the wall, which I climbed to find a visible skultula at the top. I defeated it, and then looked around. As the screenshots show, I had ended up above the fountain. Besides being filled with invisible skulltulas, there's nothing else here. Why is this wierd cave here? I'm guessing that it originally served some sort of purpose during the game's initial development, and just got left over. Sorry, but please note that I was playing the Master Quest version...I think this might be in the N64 version but I haven't checked yet.

What do you think? What's this cave there for? if it was left over, what did it used to hold? More importanly, could it have more secrets?

I started a thread like this a little while ago and jumping off that ledge was awesome!! But I went there as a kid and used the L to levitate cheat.

well there's a gold skultula there....i remember finding that...i thought that it was cool hahaha...but yea you have to defeat the 4 skultulas that are there, then climb up the ladder, and there's another skultula, and then there is a gold one on the wall...

OMFG!

Years, years! I've been wondering if you were able to get on that cliff, and if you were how you'd get there and you finaly showed how.

Gold Skulltula? I didn't see it...

LOL, it is meant to be there, can't get 100% with out finding everything.

It's wierd...I thought I'd pretty much seen everything in OOT...I guess I know what that means-I'm going to have to go exploring again!

Man, I found that a looonnnnggg time ago. I'm surprised how mow many people don't know about it. I don't think there's anything left in OOT that I haven't seen, cause I've pretty much checked every corner and polygon on that game.

Well, unfortunately, there's no Gold Skulltula up there. I just checked. Just a load of Big Skulltulas and a cool view of Zoras Fountain.

You have to go there at night, that's when the Gold Skulltula appears.

Interesting find. I have seen that cave up there recently, but I never really gave it much thought, I just thought it to be a little addition. Now, however... I must see for myself.

Never seen it until today. Its now one of my favorite places in OOT.

Wow. That all sounds pretty cool, and I haven't tried it yet. I am going to right now though, so I'm gonna play my GC...

Yeah, this thread has basically deteriorated into "ya thats kooool man lol." I always wondered about that cave...completely forgot to check it at night. But with the question answered, there's no real point in keeping this open anymore.
