Re: the dragon on links treehouse

No, Link was just bored one day, and being the typical young boy he was (or thought he was) he scatched in a little picture in his tree. Pehaps it was his thoughts...he wanted to become a hero one day. You know how kids tend to draw what they feel.

Re: the dragon on links treehouse

I doubt it has only symbolism of any sort other than the programmers put in there purely for the sake of... you guys?

Can't Link just be a kid who has a fantasy and simply draws it on his tree trunk? There are some things in life still concidential and meaningless.

I agree. Don't think about it too much, guys. It's just a doodle that link was supposed to have drawn on.

Ya know if you guys wander about this stuff, next youll wonder about his shoe size, and what type of underwear he wears. Anyway, I say its just a picture he drew, or some else drew, because he was bored.

I totally agree with $link$. Nintendo always puts in something secretive like that in a game. It's just what Nintendo does. ByTheWway: if anyone didn't notice, there's a drawing on a tree in Termina Field on the way to the Deku Palace in MM. Did anyone even notice that? It was from the skull kid and fairies.

Re: the dragon on links treehouse

I always thought it was a picture of King Koopa from Super Mario 64. Remember when the Nintendo 64 came out, how Nintendo had that big ad campaign trying to convince us that koopas were dinosaurs, to make continuity with the crazy Mario Bros. movie? I thought part of that ad campaign made it into the Zelda game.

As to the picture in Majora's Mask, the first time I even walked in the vague direction of the marshes Tati pointed out the tree carving and a very sad, very long flashback happened. Did that not happen in your game? If so, that's a shame, it was really touching!

Re: the dragon on links treehouse

I think they put it there, just for the sake of maybe trying to reveal some of Link's character...or his personality. Just cuz he is the hero of time, doesnt mean he cant have dreams..of course, he kinda lived out what he drew.

He was probably just enjoing life, and being a kid. he might have drawn it one day while playing with the other Kokiri or Saria. I just thought it was cute, nothing super meaning full.

This isnt the best situation, but I have always thought things that arent fully understandable are more interesting, or beautiful. Like poetry or somthing. Sometimes i dont know what they heck they are trying to say, but it touches you somehow ya know? (poetry i mean)

My point, if everything in life was analyzed, it would..well, not have a point.
That inculeds random childhood doodles on tree trunks.
