Re: What does the symbol on the hylian sheild stand for?
The phoenix in the Royal Family's Crest most likely represents the Hero who is destined to save Hyrule whenever it is in peril.

Everyone. Please put more time and effort into your posts or I'm affraid I'll have to lock this thread. This is just a warning to everyone. A discussion can come from this, I'm giving it hope, but all of you need to put the effort into it.

Re: What does the symbol on the hylian sheild stand for?
Well, since Link is not the only one who bears the bird on him somewere, (on his sheild) I think it is just a mark of the Hylians. Each race kinda has their own symbol. The gorons have that thing on their arms, the kokiri have that swirl, the zoras have that other three stone thing, and well, you get the idea.
So the phoenix/bird thing is just the stamp of a Hylian i guess...and when Link is little, he has the sheild with the kokiri swirl. Seven years later, his sword shows the Hylian mark of a bird. Hence, he matures to be the hero of time, even though he was a Hylian all along. I hope that made sense. Brid= Mark of Hyrule. (imo)

But were have you been? Link has always been a Hylian. He was RAISED in the forest...i really dont see what is so complicated. How do you think he got out of the forest without dieing? He wasnt a kokiri thats for sure, or he would have croked. Which means, no hero of time. And he grew up because he WASNT a kokiri. Makes sense right? I still think the bird is symbol of Hylians, but it could have other significances. Although i think we would be going to deep. ---EDIT Quote:
The deku Tree gave him Navi to help him on his quest. Thats why saria kept on saying he was different...and that she new he would leave sometime. You may want to review on some of your Zelda stuff, before trying to analyze it...may help you is all. Im not trying to sound pushy.

Re: What does the symbol on the hylian sheild stand for?
ok now i get how link was raised by the deku tree and why link grew up beacuse he was a hylian because kokiris are young forever and they can never die. But link he can die becuase he's not a kokirir he is a hylian. the shield dtill confuses me though.

Its also neat to see on the MM sheild, there is a owl. Im sure that may have some sort of connection to do with Kapea Geabora. or not. who knows. It could just be the symbol of clock town.
