MM: Shrinking Screen

Okay so I'm playing Majora's Mask today and with 30 minutes before the second day, the screen gets smaller with every time the bell rings. And this is on the collector's disk. I tried playing it on my emulator and rom, and it still appears to get smaller. Is this a glitch? Or is it supposed to happen?

It happens on any copy, even the Virtual console one. I don't know why, but it's supposed to be there.

It only does that when it's about to be the dawn of the next day. It's supposed to be like a countdown like saying "hey Link, you need to hurry up here, we only got so many hours..."

Yes, this is meant to happen, just before each new day begins.

As the screen shrinks with each knell, it conveys the sense that time is against Link, closing in on him. I think it's quite a nice effect.

The first time I saw it I was like "Oh god what's happening?!" but after that I thought it was pretty cool. Though it creeped me out for a little while for some reason.

It's for effect.

I hated that so much. It's a nice symbolic touch as mentioned above:

When I'm trying to do something really fast before I turn time back and I can't see what I'm doing because the screen got too small... it's really quite irritating.

I used to have a super small TV in my room which is where I play my games, so when it got really small it got to the point that I could barely see what was going on. Thank goodness I have a way bigger TV now.

Same here. It was too distracting to me.

Personally, I really liked it. I rarely have anything to do that late in the game, and even when I did, it never bothered me.
I even have a small TV, and I still liked it.

Meh, first time I saw it I was like: "wtf is happening O_o"
But I did not find this irritating, although it just looks silly xD

It's supose to happen. When it first happened to me, I thought I was dying or something. It was really weird and I blamed it on my sister as a joke.

It just indicates that the day is almost over iirc.

I don't like it. I'm playing on a really small TV screen, so the picture gets pretty microscopic during this.

There should be an option at the Main Menu to toggle it on and off.

Yes, but sometimes it doesn't shrink when it happen.

From what I remember, this only happens on the Dawn of the Second Day, not any other dawns or dusks in the game. I really don't know why you don't see it any other time.
