MM - Deku statue do anything?

When you get the song to create statues of yourself or your transformations you can use it to step on a switch... well except for the deku statue because it's just too light. So other then maybe a skinny barrier, does this statue have any use what so ever?

Re: MM - Deku statue do anything?

Pretty much just for decoration since Deku Link can't hold down any switches.

I know, it's depressing.

Re: MM - Deku statue do anything?

Just today, I got the song to do that. It's quite irritating that the Deku statue does nothing. I like the statues though. It strikes me though that Goron Link and Zora Link look nothing like who they're supposed to be. Anybody else noticed that? I'm sure everybody has.

I've noticed it. Actually, the Goron statue looks like Damani (Goron Mask host), and the Zora statue looks like Mikau (Zora Mask host).

Re: MM - Deku statue do anything?

Yeah, that's the point I was making. The statues were of the hosts, but wearing the masks, they look nothing like who they're meant to be. Obviously, they have to have a vague resemblance to Link, but how can the Zoras and Gorons mistake them? I can understand Darmani. He's the most like Link with the mask, whereas I fail to see how Mikau Looks like Zora Link.

The basic body structure is the same, but other than that they look nothing alike. Where are all the spots on Zora Link's back? The odd markings on his rights shoulder? It's stupid if you ask me.

Re: MM - Deku statue do anything?

The deku one is cute. That's enough reason for it. Just like the sad deku turned into a tree (Deku buttler's son). They are there to bring depth to the game saying not everything has meaning of great grandeur but cant still exist in this world just like in real life.

It's a shame the Deku Statue doesn't do anything,
and anyone finds that the Link Statue looks VERY creepy, or is just me

I thought his statue was creepy as well. At first I thought it was more of a feminine version of Link. By the terms of the face, that is.

Re: MM - Deku statue do anything?

Is there really nowhere in Stone Tower that the Deku Statue can be used to hold down a switch? Strange, but kudos to Nintendo for inluding something merely for interest or completions sake. I enjoyed the alternate appearance of the statues, and the fact that they represented the originals rather than the Link transformations. The Link version is exceedingly strange, though. Ikana and Stone Tower were so awesome. <3

Afterall, you are playing The Elegy of Emptiness. Your counter-parts kind of give you that empty/soulless look.

Re: MM - Deku statue do anything?

i just got an idea...

What about standing behind them like say for defense from a Keese or a boulder or something?

did you also notice how Goron Link can stand on little boxes and they hold but he isnt allowed on Epona yet a little box can hold him?

Nope, the Deku statue really doesn't do anything useful. I still think it's kind of cool though, even if it is pointless.

Not only that, but the Deku Butler doesn't recognize his son, Deku Link's host, even if he is the one that looks most like his host.

The magical key has a lion on it, and that's cool. It's a skeleton key that works on all locks in Hyrule. It's magical because Link gets to keep it after unlocking a door. This is why we play fantasy games, to escape into a world where you can do magical stuff like use the same key twice.
