Post OoT - The Music

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a quick story. I saw an old friend yesterday who was in town for a wedding. We have only seen each other sporadically over the last decade or so. We were driving around town catching up for a few hours when the music that was playing ended and "Hyrule Field” came softly playing through the car speakers (I have the Sound Track for “Ocarina of Time” by Kōji Kondō on my iPod). Well he got this really strange look his face like a person does when the find something very familiar but can't remember from where. He asked me what the song was playing. I told him it was "Hyrule Field" from “Ocarina of Time”. All the hours he spent playing the game came back to him in a flash of nostalgia. I asked does he still have his N64 and “Ocarina of Time” cartridge. He said he did, but he has not played it in many years. I told him when he gets back home he should.

I just got an e-mail from him and he is playing “Ocarina of Time” for the first time since 2001, and he was very happy that I reminded him how euphoric it was to play “Ocarina of Time” now just as it was at Christmas 1998.

Time does not diminish The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time it only grows more precious, to travel back in time to when "Ocarina of Time" was new. "Ocarina of Time" may not be new anymore but it is still has not lost any of it's magic.

Re: OoT - The Music

zelda music is some of the best in the world (I'm serious, some of the stuff in there hasn't been beaten in my mind), and I like it when they reuse the music from OoT in other games. all the great melodies and tunes you know have almost become characters themselves, reminding you of all the times. With Zelda's lullaby playing when you learn Tetra's true identity in WW, when you re-tame Epona at Kakariko village in TP, and of course hearing This classic gem everyone has known since the very beginning, reminding you of how great these videogames are.

Yes who among us could ever forget that first time you see Hyrule Field, that long sweeping shot perfectly in time with the Hyrule Field theme. I still get that feeling of awe and adventure when I hear that music.

P.S. to Tamir-love-zelda: I'm in Canada.

Ah, bliss!!!!

Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask both share that special place in my heart where all my fondest memories lie. Both titles are awesome, and the music from both titles brings back so many memories. E.g. the Hyrule Field music when you first enter Hyrule Field from Kokiri Forest is awesome.

Ahh yes! Hyrule Field stands out for me especially, because getting there for the first time was such an achievement and a special thing when I was a youngen.

Even just the intro before you press start on OoT is great. Such glorious memories :')
