Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I kinda thought the Mask selling quest was fun..Talking to the gossip stones is interesting and actually provides decent help if you talk to the right ones. Plus, the fun is also in trying to find the right people to give the masks too, it's not JUST about the reward. But I still thought the reward was fitting... it's not like the quest was that hard anyway.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
The Gerudo Training Ground was probably one of the worst quests in Ocarina. The prize for completing this are the Ice Arrows, which in my eyes are one of the most useless items in Zelda. I still reckon there was meant to be a purpose for these, but it was missed out.
Another reason why this was the worst quest was that you had to pay to get in. When was it needed to pay to do a quest before???

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
There was also a distinct possibility that you couldn't even get the Ice Arrows if you didn't take the correct paths with the keys, which was just stupid to put into that dungeon.
Another dumbass quest were the Spider Houses in MM. If you do them on the wrong day they're intended for, you just get a big Rupee at the end as your reward instead of the real prize like the enlarged Wallet. And you were given absolutely no clue what day you had to do it to get the better reward, by the way. Yeah, real smart design there. |

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I'm going to assume the trading quest(s) in OoT count. If not, then the kafeiXanju mission in MM always annoys the crap out of me, though it is sweet.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I actually enjoyed both the Biggoron Sword and Ice Arrow Quests in Oot.
Here's what i didn't like in OoT: The Well, seemed pointless Happy Masks, I had to do it for 100% but it was so useless Here's what i didn't like in MM: Kafei Anju Quest, too rushed, and if you miss something you start all over Redead Trading, most useless section of the game, just frustrating Deed Trading, obviously it's repetetive Aliens at Romani, just seemed useless to the game, and after a while it got megaboring. (i don't like to be bored while playing games) what's odd is i liked MM > OoT even though i didn't like more about it haha.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I didn't bother doing the title deed trading till I was at the point in the game where I would be able to get all of them at the same time.
I've even figured out how to defeat Goht and do the goron races within the same three day time span. I figured out that it only took a day with time slowed down to finish the entire temple, fairies and all, along with Goht. So whenever I get to the owl statue at snowhead, I just start time over and warp right to it, slow down time, and I can finish the entire temple by nightfall, hurry and cash in the fairies, head over to the smithies and let them work on the sword, then head over and do the races and get the keg certification. And I usually don't beat the races the first time around. I take about four or five tries. But I still make it in time to get the gold dust to the smithies and have my sword upgraded without having to go in and fight goht two times. |

The aliens on the ranch was one of my favorites. I loved the atmosphere of that one, and it was actually a bit hard. Ice arrows probably. Pretty useless, I always used the fire ones anyway.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
Anju/Kafei sidequest is ultimately just plain overrated. While it holds the distinction of being the first to invlove another player character from Link, the characters involved were otherwise forgettable. There are also at least two or three ways to screw up the sidequest inderectly from outside the quest itself based solely on how intent they were with the time system.
Oh, and the mask was ****ing useless. Aside from that, there were a few mini-quests that I thought could probably get on my nerves if I had made a single false step (like fining the lady's dog Richard in OOT; I know where the dog is, I just always make sure to avoid the hell out of the other two dozen dogs roaming the streets). |

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I didn't much like Anju/Kafei quest. I mean it had a good story behind it but, I spent half the time waiting for events to happen.

I personally hated the side-quest in Gerudo fortress where you rescue the carpenters I found it easy and pointless I mean 1. you have a horse and a hookskot to cross the gap. 2. the guy who wants to race you is unbeatable. 3. so what if it gets you gerudo membership it only leads to getting the even more pointless ice arrows. 4. there could be at least another way to become a gerudo.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I agree with you about the ice arrows but what I hate about them is that you get them so late in the game, which is a shame because they're probably my favourite kind of arrows you can use in the N64 Zelda games.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
i hated the water temple in OOT but i guess that isn't a side quest..........sooooo....i think the most worst quest would be theee bit where you faall of the cliff in OOT in grudu valley- but i guess that's not a quest so i will say getting masks. They are just so annoying you have to run all day long.

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
I loved the Biggoron's Sword quest, the Gerudo Training Ground quest, and even the Mask quest in OoT. I found each to be fun, honestly. What I look for in a side-quest is how fun it is, rather than the reward, which is nice, too. What I didn't like were the shooting galleries. Okay, so they're more mini-games than they are side-quests, but I didn't mind any of the side-quests too much. The shooting galleries got on my nerves, especially the one in Gerudo Valley, because you were on a horse in that one! They took money to play, and I always had to do it several times, emptying my wallet and getting it refilled as well. Clearly, I'm not the best shot in these games at first, but by the end of it, I can hit almost anything, I swear!
In MM, I liked all the mask quests. Sure, some of them seemed pointless, but I had fun with them. Even the Kafei and Anju one, though it got frustrating and annoying sometimes. In order to get all masks, you have to do this side-quest at least three times. Oh boy, I get to run around and do the exact same thing three times, only with a little difference at the point of getting the masks. I usually do this quest three times back-to-back in order to get it out of the way. I also usually wait until near the end of the game to do almost all the side-quests, while putting off the final boss, as always. Not even the Title Deed quest was as annoying as doing the Kafei and Anju one three times. It had a good story, and I like how the developers put this much detail into even side characters, but it got repetitive. I also did not like the shooting galleries. I just have issues with them in general. Except in TP, where aiming was made a little easier (even without the Hawk-eye). |

Re: Worst Zelda N64 quests
^ wow i couldint tell that they spelled that wrong thanks ;P
i would have to say that the worst in MM was that love story because you spend more then half the time waiting around AND you have to do it twice to get 100% -.- i ended up trying to get the gilded sword 2 times too. that was annoying. |
