Old news. No one posted it because Hawthorne Heights is an awful band.

It's a shame he died, but seriously. They should just break up already. Their song title "Where Can I Stab Myself in the Ears?" is how I feel when I hear their music.

You do realise this band is almost universally hated in any music scene? Even scenester emo kids hate them, and that's the group they're trying to market to.

Because music that is popular on Myspace must be good.

I remember when this happened. Bummer, he was pretty young. I've never listened to Hawthorne Heights, but it's a shame when anyone dies.

It just occurred to me that Heath Ledger and this guy both died of accidental overdoses, within a few months of each other. Then again, it probably happens all the time outside of the spotlight.

There is no excuse, in my opinion, for an accidental overdose.

Accidental overdose meaning that they took drugs that when mixed together are deadly. Not "let's take heroin, but not enough to kill me. Oops, guess it was enough after all!" As in, "I need this pill for my depression and this pill as a pain killer because I just had a root canal. My doctor should have told me not to take them together, but maybe I went to two different doctors. Oops, I'm dead."

It's not an excuse, but it certainly means it wasn't like he was a rock star stereotype.

Well, while I completely understand where you're coming from, I never really assumed that he was doing hardcore drugs.

Even if he was, it's just common sense that medications don't mix, and if you're unsure, you check first. We all know this.

Shame he died, yes, but sympathy? Not so much. Sorry.

This band sucks. Hard.

They make horrible music. He won't get sympathy from me.

Although the first post says he was the screamer.

I'm pretty sure he was the (crappy) guitarist.

Just saying.

This is the first time I ever heard of a band telling people how bad their music is via song titles. I think more bands like Linkin Park and Slipknot should follow!

Also, he fails at becoming an hero by one year to Kurt Cobain.

This is what everyone who has ever heard Hawthorne Heights really wanted to say back in November.

It's so nice you guys can posture and strut your apparently elevated tastes at the expense of being decent people. Have some shame.

Now, now. People die all the time. Death is a part of life; one can't exist without the other. There are people dying right this minute that no one could give a hoot about. This guy overdosed - sure, it was on medicinal drugs, but there's obviously more to it than the bandmates are willing to admit.

Besides, it happened ages ago. Which means it's fair game for joking around with.

Though I commend you for being more civil in your reply than the types of responses I expected to receive, I still disagree. Yes, death is a part of life, but, in a case like this, it's not a good one. Time, at least six months' worth, doesn't necessarily make the loss of young life a funny thing. He's being treated this way because of the band he was in. That's why he's receiving this treatment while Heath Ledger is not. He was still a person who meant something wonderful to someone, though he meant nothing to us.
