The In-game tracks thread.

For those of you who have nothing but in-game music burned on your cd this's the tread to go to! Here you can discuss not only your favorite in-game songs, but tunes from movies & tv shows as well. I figure this'd be a good way to get people to understand what kind of music you like and why. First I'll explain how to respond to this thread in order. Ugh, maybe I'm too much like Katara. (took the what avatar char ar you most like quiz)
1:List the name of the song
2(if possible): List a link so others can listen too it.
3:Talk about why you loved or hated the song, or what mesage it seems to give you. You can also talk about why/why not you like the game, movie, or tv show the song came from as well.

[Sage of Earth]

The Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone, complete with the accompanying scene from "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly.

Probably my favourite piece of music ever. Why? It's not because it reminds me of the scene in question, there's nothing particularly special about that scene. It's not because it reminds me of the movie, despite the fact that it's a bloody good film.

No, it's because, to me, that is THE most BEAUTIFUL piece of music ever to have been composed by mortal man to this day. I make especially sure not to listen to it too often, because absence makes the heart grow fonder. And even though I'm an emotionally detached person, this song, everytime I hear it, has me producing at least a single tear from my otherwise dried-up and inoperative tear glands.

Also, a lot of orchestral video game theme tunes appeal to me, just because I just imagine any final battle occurring with them playing, as well as in a lot of cases just capturing the general atmosphere of the game they represent. Legend of Zelda's legendary theme (although the soundtrack for pretty much any LoZ is generally beautiful), the Starfox theme, the Metal Gear Solid theme, etc.

Cool! To me it sounds a bit like some of the tunes that square enix have done.(in a good way.) Here's one of my faves from Shadow The Hedgehog.
2-46 - I AM - FINAL DOOM Ver..mp3 It's mediafire, so you have to download it from there, I like it cause it's got that little extra something. I think that Crush 40 is still going strong!

Open Your Heart and Live And Learn were amazing songs also. City Escape not so much but still good.

Ah well most of crush 40's work is also pretty good. I like the punk-rock sound of most of their songs, Sonic's theme is pretty cool, but the sonic adventure version is lame!

No, it's the same sonic's theem from sonic adventure. But it's more rock and roll than the cheesy version in sonic adventure. (I'll try to find both so you can check them out.)

I can't pick a song, but I have to say Tales of Symphonia has the best video game soundtrack I have ever heard. It's just epic, beautifully composed, and sets the mood flawlessly. The game is aboslutely amazing, but the music is epic in it's own right. The game wouldn't have been nearly as spectacular to me without the music.

I also think that the Sonic soundtracks are excellent as well. Pity the games suck now.

the only thing that kinda sucked about Tales of Symphonia is that they spent more time on the movies than the actual in-game graphics I mean, it looked like a freaking anime for crying out loud! I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I beat the whole game in 20 hrs. And yes, the one for Sonic Adventure 2 is a bit rock-n-roll. But not like metal, but rock.
My favorite from metroid is Ridly's theme.
