Eric Clapton

I love this guy. He's my favorite guitarists and in my opinion one of the greatest influences to blues and rock'n'roll. He really is quite cool.

Fun fact: Anyone else know that on the Beatles' song, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," George Harrison isn't playing lead guitar? It's actually Eric Clapton!

Anyway, what do you all think of this guy?

Eric is awesome, and absolutely polished live.
However: this century? I'd say he was at his prime, and far more influential, last century. His work with Cream, The Bluesbreakers, and The Yardbirds (not to mention the many other bands he worked with/was in) were all highly influential, not only on music at the time, but also continue to be a huge influence now. And that's not even mentioning his solo career.

I actually found out recently about him playing on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'; he plays the guitar solo. What an awesome song...
And another fun fact: his only no.1 hit was his cover of 'I Shot the Sherrif'.

****, I meant last century. *edits accordingly* Thanks for pointing that out. >___>

Another thing I love about him is if you see his concerts live, he's just wearing a t-shirt and jeans, normally. He does nothing to impress us with his clothes or look--it's all about the music. You can't help but respect that.

Definitely. No frills or anything, no huge sets, crazy lights, lasers...just him, the band, the music, and you. Doesn't try to be something he's not.
