It's impossible to hate all rap and hip hop. There's no way you listened to everything. That's like saying I hate everyone Texas, but I don't know anyone there, nor have I been there, but I still hate!

Old? How old do you mean? Pre Blood Sugar Sex Magik? Either way, it's inane. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the greatest bands ever. New AND old.

I very, very rarely listen to any US bands, but when I do, I'm reminded why I listen to foreign artists. I'm probably going to have my skin peeled off by crazy fans, but whatever. There's always skin graphs.

Oh dear GOD. Could this girl whine more than she does? All of her songs mainly consist of how 'horrible' her life is and how much pain she's in. Christ, get a life already. She was emo before emo was emo, not that being 'emo' is a bad thing to me. But bejesus..*cough*

My friend is absolutely crazy for Brendon Urie's voice. To me it sounds like a 13 year old kid who is trying to sound like a singer. And it's not just the lead's voice, it's the whole feel of their songs. They talk about the same generic thing, just in different words.

Did you just feel that earthquake? That was from jaws dropping throughout the world. This is the first and only Jrock/Visual Kei band I actually dislike. The band members are great, albeit strange. I liked their early songs but now it's mostly abstract screaming with some electric guitars thrown in.

The Jonas Brothers

A passing fad at best. Not much to say about them myself. They’re just that bad.

Hannah Montana

Great person, bad singer. Her voice isn’t horrible but her music? Yikes. I’m hoping she doesn’t become the next Britney.

How many times has that been mentioned in this thread? by now I'd think everyone would understand they suck, but whatever. The more times mentioned, the happier I am to know I'm not the only one.

I love how biased this thread is, honestly. There are lots of people who like The Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus. Just because YOU don't like them doesn't mean they are bad. o-x

That didn't make any sense. What someone likes is based on opinion, not always fact. You can't prove a band is good because it's based on personal opinion.

Whether or not a band is "good" or "bad" is based on opinion. Like I said..you cannot PROVE to someone that a band is good, but you can explain why YOU THINK they're good. I don't know why I'm arguing this, really, because it's pretty much the truth to me. And again..opinion.

Compare a band like Spinaltap to a band like, say, Led Zeppelin. Sure, Spinaltap was a joke sort of band, but they're INTENTIONALLY bad, and that's the sort of thing I mean. Not being intentionally bad, but...just bad.

Bach's and Beethoven's work has lasted for about 400 years, and is still played to this day. Whether you like it or not, their musical pieces are good.

Just because a lot of people like them doesn't mean they're good. And besides, they're bad to us.

And I'm not saying that they are bad. In my eyes, to me, in my opinion, they are bad.

I know I'm a bit close minded when it comes to music, but not as much as you think. Just everything about rap, like the "thump-thump-thump" deal and saying words into a microphone at such a pace that nobody can understand what they are saying doesn't mean they're good at something. And about the Zeppelin comment, I just don't have any taste in the music that they come out with.

The '90s boy bands (NSync, Backstreet Boys, etc) just are pointless to me. What were they trying to achieve when they started recording?

That's a rather odd way to look at music. It really isn't a comparible situation. A cat dies, it's dead. No longer existing. The music of The Beatles will always be around. Barring any apocaplypse.

I really just don't understand the concept behind saying people need to "move on" from a band's music like it's dead. It isn't. It's still there, same as the day it was recorded.

^True, but eventually you will get tired of the music, then wish for more, only to remember that they can't record more music. Go ahead and enjoy it, but you will eventually stop. Just a time saver, I guess
