That's fine but even most Opeth fans will agree that they have very abrupt transitions lacking any fluidity. They might disagree with it ruining the music like it does for me but ...
For the record guys the new Demiurg leaked and it is sounding pretty badass so far! Rogga is clearly one of the best DM musicians to surface since the glory days of Swedish DM.

Hey, its been a while since I was in this thread. Now this is a metal thread so I want to show you something and ask for your opinion. My friends have a band called Children of the night and this is their homepage Children of the Night - home If you have time check them out and listen to some of their songs and tell me what you think of them. They are realising an album (their first)next week. Ha ha the dude with blue Jackson RR3 is playing my guitar. XD I didn't mean this post to be some kind of advertising, I just wanna know what you think of them as a band that has taken the first serious steps to world of metal music.

I just listened to Opeth's "The Grand Conjuration" and Symphony X's "Set the World on Fire." Symphony X sounded pretty cool, but Opeth didn't really leave me with a good first impression. For something that's supposed to be prog, it didn't sound very...proggy. Then again, neither did Symphony X, but I like their sound much better than Opeth's.

What I mean to say is I don't really see how either of those bands could be called "prog." They both seemed to be pretty straightforward metal bands to me.

You talk about CrushedHope as if he is some kind of metal god. Pitiful. You shouldn't listen to music depending on someone else's oppinion.

Depends, all their albums are different. My personal favourite is My arms, Your Hearse.

I'm not really a fan of Eluveitie. They're okay though I guess.

Eluveitie are alright. I quite like the way the incorporate a lot of folk-ish instruments into their music, but their guitar sound is a bit too generic for my liking.
There are definitely better folk metal bands out there.

Well, I just found this song, and it's the only song I know of them.

Inis Mona is probably the best song I've heard by Eluveitie, so you might want to check that one out too.
Anyway, I'd heard about Helloween ages ago, but I'd never properly listened to them until today when I heard Heavy Metal Is The Law. And wow. I don't think I've ever heard a bass solo in a metal song before. I don't really like the vocals, but I'll definitely have to listen to some more of their stuff.
