Any other Tool fans out there?

I grew up with a decent amount of exposure to Tool (I grew up in the mid-90s); however, it hasn't been until the last few years that I've really started getting into their music. Is anyone else out here in the Universe of Zelda a fan of Tool? If so, what do you consider your favorite song(s), album(s), etc...

Starting off, 46&2 is probably my favorite Tool song, with "Right in Two" in second place, and Aenima is my favorite album that they've put out.

Tool's probably the band I've listened to for the longest time. I got into them in middle school/late elementary (can't remember really), though I could not obtain any of their CD's at that time (parents). However, I was able to obtain a huge chunk of their discography in the 10th grade, and to this day, they're one of my favorite bands.

I was actually going to see them in concert last summer, but due to conflicts, I could not attend. Needless to say, I was pissed, and it didn't help any that I've heard it was an amazing show.

Lateralus is probably my favorite album by them, though Ænima is up there. I don't have a favorite song by them. Just a favorite album.

I have a friend who likes them, he even has a t-shirt that says Tool on it. It's not really my thing though.

Ænima is awesome.

Tool are great, and probably one of the most innovative bands I've listened to.

I've gotten to see them once, and I can honestly say that I've never seen a show that's beaten it (musically and visually). I'd love to see them again sometime, and I'd totally recommend checking them out if you get the chance!

They're an amazing band, and their music is totally atmospheric. I love them, but they are not a band I listen to often. For me, their stuff isn't something I listen to while on the computer or just chilling in my room. They're more of a I feel like having a musical experience kind of band. Like listening to the instrumental tracks on Dark Side of the Moon. If you're just listening to tunes while surfing the web, why would you listen to On the Run? I don't know. I'm just not a big enough fan to listen to them often.

I went to see them in late 2006 when they were touring 10,000 Days in the UK. Such an awesome gig visually, they put so much effort into that side of their show, and they sounded amazing as well. Aenima is a fantastic album; Stinkfist, Aenema, The Pot, Vicarious, Hooker with a Penis, Lateralus and Prison Sex are great songs.

Any A Perfect Circle fans out there? (Maynard's side project)

It's not really his side-project, since Billy Howerdel is the real brains behind it. Maynard just fronts it. Though an interesting fact is that APC was originally envisioned with a female vocalist in mind.

But no, I don't like them. Maynard does a good job vocally, but the band is boring. And I mean BORING! Nothing interesting ever happens within their music that is remotely engaging or interesting, and thus, falls flat. It's honestly void of any emotion, which sounds like something they're trying to aim for in some of their songs. Their one album I do have (eMOTIVe) nearly puts me asleep every time I attempt to listen to it.

So no. Tool is great, but A Perfect Circle is a snore fest.

Tool are fanatastic at what they do...fantastic singer, lovely guitar, passable drumming, killer bass--just a bit long for my taste. When the song gives up all it has to offer, it just keeps going!!! It's like almost every song in their catalogue except for Prison Sex and Sober are One by Metallica. Still love em'

Passable drumming? Danny Carey is highly overrated, but he's still an excellent and incredibly musical drummer. Frankly, he beats the crap out of most musicians in popular music.

Despite the decline in music, it didn't really lower my musical standards. I don't find him amazing, but I agree, he's a god in the high beams of mainstream.
