Worlds greatest Drummers?

Who do you all think are some of the worlds greatest drummers?

Mine -

Mike Portnoy - Dream Theater
Danny Carey - Tool
Ingo - Helloween (for his influence)
John Bonham - Led Zeppelin
Niel Peart - Rush (he is good but he is a little over rated.)
Buddy Rich

Mike Portney from Dream Theater, he's by far the greatest one out there, in my opinion.

Yeah he is amazing and from my favorite band.

In terms of overall skill and influence on drumming as an instrument, hands down its going to be Neil Peart and John Bonham. But different genres require different types of skills and practice, so its going to be difficult to say overall who the greatest drummers are.

But in terms of just flat-out ability and influence, it's gotta be Bonham and Peart. Though I'm also a big fan of Bill Berry's drumming, and how it influenced the alternative rock genre.

Keith Moon treated drumming as if he was getting high off of it. He would just go faster and play louder. Amazing to say the least.

Ringo's up there as well. I mean, if you listen to his playing on Rain and A Day In the Life, you hear some great fills and snare rolls. Great. He also played to some funky time signatures with The Beatles.

Both are main influences for many drummers.

Both are also exceptionally underrated. Maybe had Moon lived longer, he'd get more credit, but Ringo has a bad rap, a lot of people seem to think he's a terrible drummer for some reason. Mostly because if you hear it from someone else, it must be true!

Yeah, the drumming in Led Zepplin and toll is pretty good.

Being a drummer myself, i would have to say my influences are that of cozy powell and tommy lee. Neil pert has hosted some brilliant clinics as well as steve harris.

I have created a thread titled "music by Hylian #1" which is for people to listen to my music. Both pc composition and my band stuff. Band stuff being added very soon.

Please feel free to have a look at the thread. Im not too sure if i put it in the right place though as it has not had any response. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Add Lars Ulrich to that list

Stewart Copeland, Buddy Rich and Bill Bruford. Also, Peter Criss is grossly underrated.
