Linkin Park Its Not All Craked Up To Be

I am sure you all know the band LP (Linkin Park) and that most of you are upset in there newest album Minutes to Midnight. Most of you are upset because the band aint as hard as Hybroid Theory or Metora. The other main reason you LP fans are upset is doue to the fact that Mike Shinoda doesent wrap almost at all in MTM (Minutes to Midnight) and that Chester Benington has preety much taken over the bands lead vocalist. Another thing in MTM is that you dont hear mike or chester singing or wraping togheter as they did in there previos albums. But personally I think this change was for the best since you all probally know that Mike Shinoda split the band in 2005 to make a new new rap band he called Fort Minor The Rising Tied. In this album whell if you know shinoda well hes just rapping he really tought people would love this style of rap. To bad this is hip-hop and not real rap like chamilionar or ludacris or T.i.

Well if you tell me I pretty much got eventually tired of Mike Shinoda rapping for a wile in his new band Fort Minor I personally liked him better wen he was rapping in linkin Park wile he and chester were screaming in songs like in the end. Im not saying that Mike Shinoda wasnt succesfull in his new band afterall he did make a hit song called "Where'd you Go". But nowing this history frome mike shinoda it explains why in Minutes to Midnight you dont hear mike shinoda wrapin but singing in a song In Betwen since was in two worlds the hip-hop world and the rock world he was left in betwen. But overall I personally Liked MIke SHinoda IN all Linkin Park albums and his Fort MInor trash.

Anyway, about the new album. I don't see why people are complaining about it sounding different. I've heard, like, five songs off of their new album on Sirius radio and it does not sound THAT MUCH different.

The Point is that i Love Linkin Park wheather they change drastically or not like in minutes to midnight it really doesnt sound all to difrent from the previous likin parks but in the end if dont know linkin park and listend to them it would all sound the same

Hmmm Mike Shinoda never split the band. He did Fort Minor as a side project while the band took a break from touring. (Fort Minor was amazing by the way) I'm a huge Linkin Park fan and know this stuff haha. I like the new change its very fitting for them but hey you got tracks like 'Bleed it Out' and some others that give you thier 'old sound' feel. Heck Mike even sings on a whole track by himself called 'In Between' and another song that wasnt released on the MTM album called 'No Roads Left But One' (if you want it tell me) its my favorite song by Linkin Park and sadly it diddnt make the cut for MTM 'No Roads' is another track with Mike singing and no rapping but its amazing to hear his vocal talent in a song rather than rapping. Dont get me wrong I love Mike's rapping its what got me into LP and I rap myself in a band which he inspired. 'Bleed it Out' will keep me occupied for now from thier old sound, that song is just fun to listen to!

Actually Linkin Park just plain blow. I'd give you effort points for writing that thread complete with the pictures and everthing, but... well, it's Linkin Park you're writing about, after all.

It seems in the new album its more heavy rock than alternative. I like the new album, but I like the previous ones better. It seems like the new album was written because it had to be, while Hybrid Theory and Meteora were actually written from the heart. BTW does anyone know the real name to a song I downloaded called....well.... What I've Done. Its not the What I've done in the album. I wanted to download the real one and it turned out to be this one. I remember a few of the lyrics, they go something like this:

Refugeeeeee, I'm the enemy, of your beliefs,
Don't leeeet meeeeee, because I disagreeeee

The second line sounds flictated I know its wrong, but its what it sounds like to me

I laughed when you said "upset about their new album".
I honestly don't even remotely like Linkin Park.
Their music is very repetitive, and it doesn't take a lot of skill to play what they play. No offense, really, but they're terrible, to me.

I used to love them a lot. But I have lost interest, since their songs have kinda gotten lame. Minutes to Midnight was a bad move for them.

Linkin Park forming in the first place was a bad move.

All I ever see of Linkin Park's fans are annoying little fanboys that, whenever someone even criticizes their music (if you can call it music), go on a rampage.
I'm going to agree with sea; Linkin Park is pure suck.

Woop I dont go on a rampage. I just see it as other peoples opinions not everyone is going to like every band in the world

I agree! I like four songs on there. The change is a bit drastic, but, I liked it. Which ofcourse I am not a rap fan....at all. But yea, they did not have as much umpf as the pervious ones, but I still like it.

Linkin' Park was never good in the first place, and they really just got worse over time.

Linkin Park has always been a guilty pleasure for me. They're one of those bands that I know I shouldn't like, but I do anyways and personally could care less if I'm bashed for it or not. Personally, I like the new album. It was a fresh start for the band and I'm glad they've finally got rid of their nu-metal sound. Musically, it's by far the best album they've done yet, but lyrically it's more of the same whining and crying about things not going their way. Plus, they've jumped on the "Everyone else hates President Bush, so we will too so we can be cool" bandwagon.

I was a Fan of Linkin Park in the beginning... the new kind of RAP/ROCK really caught onto my ears & the tunes in Hybrid Theory really stuck in my head I still listen to that album like I did the first day I got it.

Linkin park really lost my interest when they released Meteora... there tunes seemed more mellow, less rapish rockish & just kind of bland.... I haven't heard alot of thier new album but Im not really looking forward to it.... they've gone far down the wrong path for me to over look them again
