Top 5 Favorite Albums

Pretty simple thread really.

1. Make Yourself - Incubus
2. Mer De Noms - A Perfect Circle
3. American Idiot - Green Day / A Crow Left Of The Murder - Incubus
4. Mechanical Animals - Marilyn Manson
5. Dookie - Green Day

Eh, not really much variety. But whatever.

Re: Top 5 Favorite Albums

This is my top five as of right now, figured out with my usual system of determining ranking order. It isn't a perfect system, but it's the best way I know how to figure it out. Number one, for example, doesn't really represent the album I listen to the most. In fact, I haven't listened to the album from start to finish for over a year at this point. Yet it still ranks at number one. So I would say the system is flawed. But enough yammering:

5. Brother, Sister by mewithoutYou
4. Deja Entendu by Brand New
3. The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me by Brand New
2. Sea of No Cares by Great Big Sea
1. Hello Rockview by Less Than Jake

This list probably changes close to a monthly basis.

5: O Brother Where Art Thou? Soundtrack
4: Dookie ~Green Day
3: Toys in the Attic ~Aerosmith
2: Anywhere But Home ~Evanescence

That just about sums it up. :3

In no particular order:

Council Estate of Mind - Skinnyman
Jungle Sound Gold - Pendulum
Drum and Bass Arena - Andy C
Hooray for Boobies - Bloodhound Gang
Relationship of Command - At the Drive In

A mix of different genres, I like to keep an open mind with music. Drum and Bass is a huge hit with me currently, and I saw Pendulum just this weekend at Global Gathering in the UK. Amazing.

Re: Top 5 Favorite Albums

Hunky Dory - David Bowie

Love, love, love. Thematically, it's quite similar to The Man Who Sold the World with doomsday and Nazism making an appearance, although the sound is much softer and the melodies faaar superior to anything he'd done previously. Life on Mars? is my favourite song evarrr.

Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette

Yes it's been played to death on the radio, and it's given us the ever-heinous Avril Lavigne, but I still <3 this album. I prefered Alanis when she looked as though she looked as though she hadn't washed in a few days and didn't even try to stay in key when she screeched her way through a song.

Raw Power - Iggy and the Stooges

New York - Lou Reed

I think I actually prefer Lou's solo work over his Velvet Underground days, and this is as good as it gets imo. Dirty Blvd. is one of my favourite Lou Reed songs, and surprisingly enough, it's probably the best known song on the album. :0

Private Dancer
- Tina Turner

This woman can do no wrong in my opinion. I think I must have an anniversary edition of the album, because there are a couple of tracks that don't seem to be on the original track listing.
There's a saying that goes: There's always somebody hotter, more talented and more grateful. Tina must be one of the few people that *doesn't* apply. She puts todays pop-slags to shame.

Float your moosic.
