Most Interesting/Strange Music You've Ever Heard

What's the most interesting or strangest music you've ever heard? What makes it interesting? Be it classical, rock, rap, or funk, post the most interesting or strange music you've ever heard here.

For me, it would probably be some of Genesis' stuff, and some stuff by Mew.

Strange? Try listening to something like "Dark Waves Dying" by Solefald. That song would be weird enough without the off-key jazz saxophone stuck in there. Still awesome, of course.

In Quebec, I heard some French rap. 'Nuff said.

The weirdest band I listen to is probably Behold...The Arctopus. They are ultra technical to the point that it is hard to grasp what going on sometimes. Also, if you like B...TA you should check out Direwolf, their guitarists side project. It is awsome.

Soul Coughing! <3

Bus to Beelzebub, Casiotone Nation and Screenwriter's Blues say it all.

Totally unlike anything else I've ever listened to. And I love it.

"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. An interesting mix of Opera and Rock all in one. I enjoy it still regardless.

You find Mew weird? Hm.

I'd have to say some of the stuff Solefald made. Along with a few things from Arcturus. That is, of course, only "weird" music that I like.

I don't find Mew weird, but interesting.

The Flaming Lips and They Might Be Giants are very strange and interesting bands, too.

Company Flow's 'Little Johnny From the Hospitul (intentional misspelling)' instrumental album.
Get the song 'Happy Happy Joy Kill' for one... odd experience. It's too hard to describe in words.

Sunn O))) is probably the strangest. Either that or Nurse With Wound.

Most interesting? ISIS. I have listened to Wrists of Kings over 50 times and I still hear new stuff every time it comes on.

You Don't Know by Reel Big Fish. For such a cheerful tune, you wouldn't expect the first words to say **** off.

Re: Most Interesting/Strange Music You've Ever Heard

In terms of being interesting, I'd say The American Dollar. Very ambiant, very intricate. Beck is interesting as well, though that just may be because when I got Mellow Gold I was expecting an entirely different type of music than what I got. Broken Social Scene also has a way of kind of meshing all these sounds together and getting some good tunes out of it. Forgive Durden does some pretty strange stuff musically, though mostly just through standard insturments. I'll also agree with Keds and musical zombie and say ISIS and The Flaming Lips are quite interesting.

Vangelis does some amazing music, really strange detailed tunes, which I don't really have much to compare to, as I find it quite unique. His most famous work was on the soundtrack for Blade Runner, an epic score.

The Clockwork Orange soundtrack is the strangest, but most awesome music I've heard, especially the main theme of the movie. That has to be my favorite.

Yeah, that movie has a great mix of classical and weird music. Clockwork Orange is badass.
