Im into christian.

Like Toby Mac, and DC talk. Any one else agree with me? or am I alone? Please tell me what you think.

Freakin awesome. Toby Mac's freaking shweet. I love 'Burn for You,' and 'Gone.'
My favorite Christian band is Falling Up. Their song 'New Hope Generation' is the heezy, as well as 'Divinity.' I like Thousand Foot Crutch, Chris Tomlin, Jars of Clay, Skillet, Relient K, and all the others.

I love their song 'Belly of the Whale!' That song'd freaking awesome.

I love all those songs. I also like Freak show. Fire is a sick right song. My absolute favorite, although hey now is pretty good, and Brand new man. I cant believe I forgot the news boys. They are awsome.

I like 'Hey Now.' Kind of a soothing urban feel to it.

Paramaecium is better than any band mentioned here, factually.

Dream Theater is the only band I listen to with blatantly Christian themes. I may check out Paramaecium, however.

I don't feel Toby Mac / other "Christian rap or rockers" are representing Christ the way they should.
Whether he's a Christian or not, I certainly can't say, but as Christians, we're to be in the world, not OF it, and when you look at a pic of these professing Christian artists and it's hard to tell them from Eminem or the rest of the world... time to check into different musicians... like, ones that you can really see Christ in.

I also like Casting crowns and Phillips Craig and Dean. they pretty good too. I Like the song if we are the body. And Phillps Craig and Deans Christmas is the best of thier cds out thier.

Many arguments have been made about that. I, for one, enjoy blatantly christian bands like Casting Crowns, but bands like tobyMac, Pillar, Falling Up, etc. reach out to the world in a way that is bound to be more succesful than the traditional way. We're the "New Hope Generation," and they're doing what they feel God is telling them to do. Not everybody's going to like Casting Crowns, or Newsboys. It's called "broadening horizons."

I can't stand bands who have sugary lyrics about how much they love Christ. The best band that has been mentioned (apart from Dream Theater, that is) is DC Talk, and they're not very good.

Meh, I strongly dislike Christianity, so I refrain from listening to music that has a Christian message, unless the music is really, really good.

Y'know, I doubt many people listen to Christian music. There's a lot of hate going around, which I don't get. When someone's anti-semetic, everyone flips out. But whenever someone else is anti-Christian, it's the coolest **** ever. Maybe this'll spawn a thread, hmm... Anyway, I don't mind Christian bands, but many of them aren't that good. Death and Desire is a pretty underground band that I saw live, they're decent. SoaD's members (at least Serj and Daron) are Christian, and this carries into some of their songs. I wouldn't call 'em a Christian band, but some of their songs have this theme. Um... That's about it, I believe. I don't listen to bands 'cause they're Christian, so this probably explains it... If the music (and lyrics) are good, I'll listen to 'em. That's what it comes down to for me.

Isn't Dream Theater Jewish, though? They look it, at least. I don't remember Jesus ever being mentioned in their lyrics, separating them from Christianity. I'll check more in-depth later, though. Amazing band, either way.

Most of the people that say this turn around and ask, "Why not listen to demonic bands, it's just music." Not saying you're this kind of hypocrite, only making a point.

Then couldn't one become a callgirl carrying a Bible and preach as she gets played on, in the name of "broadening horizens",?
What I'm saying is that it's not right to become like the world, and label it as a youthful, modern witnessing technique. If someone comes to Christ because they feel that they can be saved, and still live as they please... well, they're doing it for the wrong reasons then.

BTW: I also like the music of Casting Crowns quite a bit, and my Mama is pretty much in love with Phillips, Craig & Dean.
My favorite CCM artist though, is undoubtedly Mark Schultz.

Take a look at some of the lyrics on Awake and tell me again that they're Jewish.
