So, the band is coming to a city near me, and they're touring with Papa Roach. So I decided to look up some of their music.

I'm in love.

I've only listened to a few, but some of my favorite songs are "November Rain", "Knocking on Heaven's Door", and "Better".

They've honestly got really good lyrics, and a good melody and tempo. =D

Your thoughts? What's some of your favorite songs?

Yes, I also liked them aslo, I really liked "Sweet Child O' Mine." I am totally addicted to it. The opening Solo is amazing as well.

as an avid guitarist, slash is my inspration, he is a god. the new album "chinese democracy" is due out in fall. I hope its finally released coz its gonna be epic. Ive just mastered rocket queen on guitar, its great.

I think they're one of the most overrated hard rock bands in history. Slash is a decent guitarist, and they have one or two songs that aren't laughable, but that's about it. It's a shame, really.

^what are you on? the use your illusions are the best albums ever. their better than all these wannabe rock bands like "My Chemical Romance" and "Fallout Boy". or "Blink 182". Eesh. best band ever, man.

First off, opinions are are not universal. Second, I don't listen to those garbage bands you mentioned.

Well. G&R is decent rock. Not mindblowing. Just a tad boring and a tad creative. In my opinion of course.

I'm gonna have to agree with sea on this. I think people just like them for the sake of liking them. Someone, one day, decided to worship them as the best rock band ever, and people felt like tagging along.

And Slash, over-rated as well. Saw him play live with Velvet Revolver (unfortunately, they were the opening band for Black Sabbath) and was severely disappointed. If someone really wants me to, I'll name better guitarists, just dont have the energy now.

there are many better guitarists than slash but that dosnt excuse the fact that he is an amazing guitarist, but your right, he is a bit overated

Sure, they had a few good songs...but they're not as great as everyone makes them out to be. Slash can make some pretty good stuff with a guitar, but it takes more than a decent guitarists to make a great band.

This band is overated.

I'm a huge Gn'R fan. I've been listening to them for close to 10 years now and I'm as hardcore of a fan as they come. ^.^ I'm going to see them this sunday too! My first time! woo.

I can give ya a complete history if ya want, but that'll take too long. Your best bet is to go pick up a copy of Appetite for Destruction and then pick up their other cds if ya like that (it's a classic album.)

People have a right to like the bands they want to like and so on and so forth, but G'n'R are a little bit overrated. The people that are actually fans of them, thats cool. The people that just like them 'cause they think it'll make them cool, not so.

Axl is the worst vocalist ever, and a complete moron.

Indeed. GnR Were good in the 80's/early 90's. Slash was a great guitarist and still is. Axl, is still the same, if not worse which made the band more interesting back then. All of the songs featured a good bit of everything, sweet bass lines (being a bass player myself) and some nice drums too.
