Thumbs up Flyleaf

Any Flyleaf fans on board?

I just recently got into this band. I went to the Famly Values Tour in Atlanta to see KoRn and Flyleaf was one of the many opening acts. They were pretty cool. I remembered hearing their single "I'm So Sick" on the radio so many times and wanting to look up this group but never got to it. Thankfully I went to see KoRn

Flyleaf used to open up for Evanescence years ago, and they (flyleaf) went by the name of "Passerby". They are alternative/metal. And the lead singer sounds similar to Alanis Morissette sometimes. Except...sometimes she gives this awesome scream! lol. It's cool...she could be singing softly at first (like on the second single "i'm so sick") with "I will breaaak into thoouughts, with what's written on my heaaart..." And then... "I will BREEEEAAAK!" heh heh, fun.

My fav. songs from them on their new album right now are "So I Thought" and "Cassie". BTW, their new album is 10 bucks ;-) This is their main site www.flyleafmusic.com and the supa koo fan site :-P is www.flyleafonline.com

Also, check out "I'm So Sick" if you haven't heard it yet

--edit

You can hear I'm So Sick, So I Thought, and Cassie, here http://www.myspace.com/flyleaf along with Fully Alive (their third single) :-P

Re: Flyleaf

I got into FlyLeaf a little bit about a month or 2 ago...but I've kinda faded away from them. In the 'So Sick' video, their lead singer doesn't look all that bad, but then, I saw her on tattoo stories on Fuse, and she didn't look as good, maybe it was the light

I'm not all that into female singers for rock/metal bands, some sound alright(band in discussion) but if they can sing and it sounds good, I'm all for it.

Re: Flyleaf

Flyleaf is not an opening band. They're on the Main Stage. I'm going to see them on the 20th in Marysville, but something tells me that 10 Years and Korn are the prime of the show (I've seen both before and that was kickass). Flyleaf is an okay band. Nothing to be obsessed with.

Re: Flyleaf

I see this board has a lot of modern alternative rock fans which I'm not a big fan of.

Re: Flyleaf

I saw the I'm so sick video awhile again and have liked the band since. While It's not my favorite band I do enjoy listening to them once and a while.

I really like the song Cassie.

Re: Flyleaf

Eew. Flyleaf's singer's voice isn't strong enough to pull off a female vocalist for a hard rock band. I may actually go to this show, though, for one reason, and one reason only. Dir en Grey is playing -- on main stage, might I add. I may also go to boo at KoRn, but there are too many KoRn fans, and I may die. I take a fondness to living, so I may not do that.

Re: Flyleaf

Flyleaf is awesome. I love their songs I'm So Sick, Fully Alive and Cassie.
Isn't Cassie based on the Columbine High School Tragedy? I have recently finished the book, "She Said Yes" which is by a mother of a student who was killed and her name was Cassie.

eh give them a chance live (korn and Flyleaf). I just came back from Marysville for the concert (had to leave early so I missed Deftones and Korn but I've seen Korn live before). I can tell you that they're pretty good live it's those damned producers fault I'd say. It's a lot better live. I went thinking I'd hate them but they were pretty good. Also if you haven't seen Dir en Grey live yet, It's well worth the money for them alone.

PS. If it was you that the light fell on you're getting blood all over your keyboard.

Re: Flyleaf

Because of their lyrics, sea. They don't sound so Christian to me.

I have one of their CDs on my iPod, and they're okay, but I never really got into them. I just like other bands way more, like AFI and such. Plus, I'm moving into a Jason Mraz type phase. ><

I'm sure the show will be alright despite the KoRn. Maybe even for the mosh pits alone. Though as far as the pits go, I don't know whether they'll be weak because it's a KoRn show, or too brutal for me because there'll be many, many people there. And yeah, I am going for Dir en Grey, because they're an amazing band just by their studio work alone. Most bands are better live. And, um... WTF is with the P.S.?

I wasn't there. If I go to the show (which at this point is rather unlikely), it won't be until this Saturday. Maybe I'll somehow be able to get a ride to the place. It'd be a great show, I'm sure of that. I just hope I can go.

Thus why 1 in 6,400,000,000 not 1 in 2,000. So it was actually 0 chance. I put it there because I was bored and the post felt incomplete. Meh, I still wouldn't go just for Flyleaf. They're good enough to listen to. Also, as advice, If you go wear sunblock. I can't even move my neck.
