DragonFORCE

Basically anybody who asks, thinks its its an anime show, but trust me its not even close...

I found this band through purvolume and they sound prety awesome. Their music is very original-sounding and not so everyday nu metal/hard rock sound. Look them up on preuvolume or myspace and tell me what you think.

Yeah, they're unique, but it's just not type of music. A friend of mine was addicted to them for a while and introduced me to a few songs. The songs were okay, but it's just not to my taste.

I love this band! They are so good! And I especially like the fact that all their music consists of fantasy based elements, like dragons and warriors etc.

I know it may sound like I'm conforming, but I like Through the Fire and Flames the best.

I've listened to a few of their songs and from what I've heard, they're pretty good. In fact, a few of my friends went to a DragonForce concert tonight in Atlanta. I would have gone, except I couldn't get tickets or the means of transportation to go (my parents wouldn't let me drive 5 hours to a concert).

I got one of their albums from a friend and I'm totally in love with it especially 'Through the Fire and the Flames'

Yeah, this guys rock it hard, though i've never taken the time to look at any of their interveiws to see if they really intend to be as cheeky and campy as their lyrics make them out to be, but whatever. i love listening to them while driving, they are brilliance on a CD.

Well, the music sounds good, but since the entire song is basically just completely overwhelming guitar at insane speeds, there really isn't any room to emphasise a specific part of the song. They're an ok band, but nothing more.

I love em, I know they are terrible song writers, but I just love the music. I've been following these guys since Valley of the Damned came out.

I find them annoying. I'm not a huge power metal fan, and they are good musicians, but I don't care for their music. It's far too cheesy and "happy" for my tastes. The fantasy lyrics are lame at best. All of their songs sound the same, too - either soft power ballad, or all-out-speed-wank-fest. The worst part is that there are a lot of people who think it's some of the fastest and most "extreme" music out there. Ugh.

The guitar parts, outside of the solos, are pretty easy, too, just fast. All the riffs are just three or four notes. It sounds a lot harder than it really is. Anyone who can tremolo pick can play their stuff.

Their songs were good at first, but they all go so fast and start to sound the same after a while. The cheesy lyrics and band name also don't appeal to me so much. They've become too main stream now.

I enjoy listening to it, but I wont be buying any of their albums.

I like 'em. A lot. All of you who say they're nothing but fast, I have two words for you: FAIL and WRONG. With bands that are merely fast, the guitar is basically made up of random notes being played and sounds terrible, not to mention sloppy. With DragonForce, each note is clearly audible and you can tell that Herman Li is not just moving his fingers at random across the strings of his guitar. The drums are nicely timed, and vocals are not the crappy scratchy moaning vocals you get so often in the new metal scene (and I'm not entirely referring to nu metal here). So yes, I like them quite a bit. One of the few bands immediately to jump to my favorites list.

Oh, I could name a fair few bands whose instrumental work (be it guitar, drums, bass, etc.) are made up without an obvious form of structure. Most (mainstream) rap is like this, for one. Some lesser metal bands are this way as well. And since I'm so out of the know, according to you, please, share some of your wise insight with me.

Please name a few of these "structureless" bands you know so much about, because honestly, as huge into the metal scene as I am, I don't know a single band without song structures.
