Who likes Green Day, and what is your fav song?

hey. green day rocks! who agrees? huh? huh? anyway please post what you like about green day and why you love the song you love(optional). no flamers. please and thank you. i'm very patieant but please don't insult my favorite band.

and if there's any songs u can think of that i don't have please let me know. thanks.

I cant stand them, Their old stuff wasnt too bad, but all the new stuff is WAY too mainstream for me. They are just another pop rock group to me.

The only one out of those I like is Good Riddance (Time of our Lives). Yeah, I really don't care for Green Day (especially their newer crap) but that song is pretty good I think.

heh i knew i wasn't alone in this world of being a green day fan. like i said feel free to tell me any songs you think i missed. i would gladly put them as a choice. at least up to a certian amount.

My friend and I always say "If you don't own Dookie, then you're not a GreenDay fan." (I have it...well, my brother has it and I listen.) We said this because my other friend says she loves GreenDay and has their newsest CD, but she's never even heard of any of their previous songs when I played them for her. <.<

Because dookie was their best. Greenday is all right, but most labums are just not good. Except dookie. But I do like Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Wake me up When September Ends is OK, too, but I guess I really only like it because they played it every five seonds on the Turkish MTV channel...OK...

I used to like Green Day, that was before they sold out and went all pop-punk wannabe on us. And if those 4 songs sum up your liking of the band, check out the earlier albums that didnt suck

I used to like Green Day, but then they turned into s***y pop-punk after, 'American Idiot'. The only good album from them was Dookie.

"Wake Me Up When September Ends" is their best song, IMO, and definitely the only good one on that list.

Most people know that Dookie was their greatest. And anyone who's a green day fan knows that Warning isn't all that bad either.

I identify with "September," and aside from it being the only song that actually has a real *purpose* (and one of their only good ones with no profanity), that's probably the only reason I care for it.

I haven't been involved enough in music culture to be any sort of authority on whether their old stuff is any good. Ignorance of societal... stuff... has been my way these past years. Time to break the cycle--to a degree. I'll bet you're right in saying, however, that Dookie was their best album. I'm compelled to take a closer look.

I can understand if it affects their music, but disliking them because other people like them is pretty pointless. I mean, aren't things popular for a reason? I don't know much about Green Day so I can't say much about the quality of their stuff.

Anyone who likes Green Day because of American Idiot isnt a true fan IMO and if a song from American Idiot is your favorite, you're robbing yourself of the good side of this band. Which is everything before Warning (and some of Warning but not a whole lot)

I enjoy listening to Green Day, but I don't really have any favorite songs. My sister hates Green Day though, quite badly to be honest. It seems as though you either like Green Day or you don't. At least where I live.

Never been into their newer stuff ... never really got into them. But I cant say I hate them. I just dont listen to them for some reason. Eh anyway. I just listen to a couple of their songs, the only ones I like.

Deffinately Time of our Lives or Good Riddance. The acoustic version is also neat to listen to on those.

The old Green Day was somewhat tolerable punk rock. The new Green Day is a big heaping pile of s***. I used to listen to Green Day along time ago, in Junior High. So the old stuff has some nostalgic value and I will listen to it if it comes on the radio. I'm not saying its great or anything, though.

Some time ago, something was established that listening to underground music became "cool" but in theory, I guess it's just another way to become less of a target for musical difference. Can't say I like contemporary rap and hip-hop at all anyway so yeah.

I'm a fan of pop punk. And I've learned not to give a **** about what people say about my preference. I can see where the whinny emo comes from, but Green Day dosen't terribly reflect too many of those elements. I liked their single "Boluveard(sp?) of Broken Dreams" pretty much-- it was really catchy before they overplayed it on the radio just about a thousand times(probably would have had the same effect-- I loopkill my songs). I despise the "poser" label that they always slap Green Day for-- there are greater measures of that out there. Eh. Time of Your Life is a great song though. I've been meaning to learn it on my guitar sometime, but my schedule dosen't agree with it.

I hate Green Day. Them winning the VMAs pissed me off. When is the last time a band with actual TALENT was on MTV?
