Music you DISPISE!!

What type of music do you absolutely hate? I don't know why, or what caused me to hate it, but I HATE pop music. I highly dislike country, but pop pisses me off.

trance and hardcore... 'nuff said

(I'm surprised that people even call it music)

Basically anything that's in the mainstream currently.

Jazz.

People put so much effort into being good at playing jazz. But I just don't get it. There's no rhythm or melody, for the most part. It just seems random and half-assed. Like they're just messing around with instruments, and not actually trying to play anything.

I hate country all it is to me is drunk hillbillys making rhymes with an old guitar in hand. Rap is what makes young naiive teens join gangs and do drugs. Pop well it just plain sucks.

I hate threads where people don't give reasons as to why they have their opinions. Like this one.

There's actually no music that I absolutely cannot stand. I would prefer not to listen to a lot of things, such as, oh, say, Good Charolette, and I think it's garbage, but I'm not going to go out of my way to get rid of it.

Depends on the style of jazz. I don't listen to it or like it that much, but some jazz is like you described, while other types are very very melodic.

For the most part I am not a big fan of Doom metal. I don't really despise it but I don't like listening to things that painfully slow, however I have my exceptions like Acid Bath and Candlemass.

I also dislike mainstream rap, for lyrical content and unoriginality.

I mean, fine if you're forty or over but to say the truth set by me I really don't like her songs.
Just the 'sunrise....sunrise....' gets me moaning any day!! At one point, it seemed to be the only track that was playing whenever I switched the radio on. Maybe it's just the station I'm on, hmmm. :confused:

Maybe you just shouldn't listen to the radio. Trust me, you'll be better off for it.

I can second that statement.

Even the classic rock stations are starting to suck. 3 decades of music, and they play the same old songs over and over and over again. Boston had more than 4 songs, you know.

Because mainstream music is boring, cliched, and mostly talentless. You just have a bunch of "me too" bands that copy one another to make money. The music industry lacks a soul. You either have a bunch of whiny Emo bands, Yo Yo Yo Thug Ganster Slap a Hoe Hip Hop, or boyband pop.

I would just like to point out, that not all emo bands suck. [As usual, people stereotype based off what the radio plays. -_-]

I personally do not 'hate' any type of music. While I dislike the lack of creativity behind mainstream rap music [same message in every song, every music video is the singer in a room of thousands of girls dancing, there are exceptions, but for the most part, it's all the same.]. But other than that I can listen to pretty much anything, as long as it's catchy or if it had work put behind it.

Most mainstream rap is pretty bad now. Its the same thing over and over, a big bass beat, with someone rhyming about his Escalade with 20's. Rap got a sickness when Vanilla Ice picked up a mic, and finally keeled over when 2 Pac died.

I don't despise or hate any genre of music. There's some I'd don't particularly like, but rather than ***** about it I just don't listen to it. As a matter of fact, I bet that in every genre of music I'll find at least one song I like, and therefor I can't hate the genre; that one song is enough. I don't like a lot of rap music (though I like about an equal amount that I dislike), but with a best friend who loves rap, I certainly know better than to insult it, as he would thoroughly destroy each and every arguement I'd make. Just like I could easily dismiss every arguement he could make against rock or punk or whatever genre I listen to. I learned a long time ago that arguing over music is one of the most counter-productive pointlessly stupid things to do. I'd rather not have all the animosity between the different genres and just classify people as music fans.

I hate those kind of Metal bands that sing about stupid things like blood, hating religions, etc. Even if they're singing about flowers, I just hate how they have to scream like they were tied up and tortured.

I also dislike most Punk bands, Simple Plan are a great example.

Now, most of the time I don't care for the lyrics in a song. Sure, I'd like good meaningful lyrics, but most of the time it is the beat itself and some "decent" lyrics that atleast fit with the beat of the song. Don't care if the song is about slapping some hoes and shooting some cocky guys. What I'm trying to say is that the lyrics can either be 50 Cent-esque or Tupac-esque, I like both styles.

I despise most mainstream rap of today (there are a few good songs out there), pop-punk, and almost all of emo music. (I only like one band, and there local in Toronto) I also can't stand country music or easy listing music and thats pretty much it.
