Foo Fighters and their new-found popularity.

A couple years ago my dad decided to modernize his music taste buy buying a CD from a modern rock group. The title of the album was "One by One". Upon placing it into the CD player of his car we began to listen.

...And I liked.

I've like Foo Fighters since then, and they haven't been too popular, although there would be a fan here and there.

About a month ago I turn on the television set and voila, here's their "The Best of You" music video.

And then I see it again, and again, and again.

And now everybody likes Foo Fighters.

Despite that, how many of you liked Foo Fighters before that song came out?

Me. They have loads of great songs. In Your Honor was a bit of a disappointment, though.

Re: Foo Fighters and their new-found popularity.

They have always been a popular band actually, The Shape and The Color being their most popular album probably.

Good band. Very good band.

They're # 14, on the billboard and 'In your Honor' is already platnum (double disc wise, that'd be 500,000 instead of the single disc 1,000,000). If I'm correct there best selling album has sold 1.6 million. This album will probly become there best seller. They've always had a loyal fanbase, but this is going to be there biggest hit so far.

I liked them a good amount until that dreaded song came out, that song serriousally sucks.

Re: Foo Fighters and their new-found popularity.

I feel the same as you aeturnus. The fact that the 'posers' all of a sudden fall in love with Foo Fighters is annoying and hateful. It pisses me off. The same thing happened with System of a Down and Chop Suey. I have 4 Foo Fighters albums including their first self-titled one, which is very underrated. One by One is an amazing album. THIS is the album that SHOULD have gotten them popular...but no....I loved Low, Times Like These, Overdrive, and others as well...still no got very popular...well except Times Like These.

Best of You is a great song, don't get me wrong, but I really think there are better songs by FF that need to be appreciated as well. I will probably get their new album for my birthday.

Re: Foo Fighters and their new-found popularity.

Hahaha, it's funny, I'm a music snob now. I just don't like people who didn't know who the heck the Foo Fighters were before that song came out, and then they're all like "YAY FOO FIGHTERS"!

But anyway, that song is glorified way too much. It's a good song, but it isn't a great song. Overated is the perfect word for it.

Re: Foo Fighters and their new-found popularity.

I liked their "There Goes My Hero", and that was pretty much all I had heard of them until In Your Honor came out. Well, I had heard one song that was too much southern rock for my brain and hated it, but I don't remember what it was called. "Best of You" is my favorite song on this new album, I do like it a lot. And yeah, I did sorta realize that they've just become popular with their latest songs. Oh, did you know that Foo Fighter's lead singer was once Nirvana's drummer? Ooh, trivia. But once the band split, he formed the Foo Fighters. And not a bad choice, I must say.

Re: Foo Fighters and their new-found popularity.

Yeah I did know that. Also it is said that the Foo Fighters drummer may be doing the same thing. He wants to start his own band and follow in the footsteps of Dave Grohl. (sp?)

Nirvana didn't break up, Curt Cobain comitted suicide then they ended the band because of it, and everyone knows that Dave Ghrol was originally in Nirvana.

And, thus, shortly after the death of Curt Cobain, Foo Fighters was founded.
