Let's appreciate Tupac Shakur

I think he's an amazing rapper and probably the most conscious one who ever lived.

These are my favorite 2pac tracks:

Ever got those spam e-mails?

"hey this is toupac. I know they say I'm dead but I'm not. If you want to help me get back in the game meet me at the hardies on XYZ evening."

but I don't mind toupac.
Just don't listen to that genre much.

I am so not a rap person, but I own and enjoy my Tupac Greatest Hits CD :3
I like to clean house to it. My neighbors are black, though, so they might wonder why this nerdy white girl is listening to Tupac, but I don't care, Good music is good music.

Re: Let's appreciate Tupac Shakur

^ pretentious just means you know what you like and are selective about it.

It's what people with broader standards call people w/ more selective standards.

No, pretentious means that you only believe what you like has any worth, and look down on others for liking things different than you.

Re: Let's appreciate Tupac Shakur

^ I rarely find that to be the actual case though with people and the label to be miss-applied.
Most of the time when either I or my friends are called pretentious it's because my/their personalities can be over the top and too flamboyant. That combined with the fact that people seem to be intimidated about our body of musical knowledge I guess just rubs them the wrong way.
We can get a bit annoying at times, admittedly. <__<

Re: Let's appreciate Tupac Shakur

8bit's main argument for Tupac's music being bad appears to be that he just doesn't like it. I think that supports Nolan's definition quite well.

Yeah that's pretty much it.

Tupac is bad and you should feel bad for liking him.

*goes to get chinese food*

Okay I'm back.

this song gave me goosebumps.

there is absolutely no rap or hip-hop on my iPod and this song will probably make me buy some 2-pac this week.

PS: Snow_storm introduced me to this song. (thanks bro.)
