RIP Oasis (1991 - 2009)

Well, they didn't exactly "break up". Noel left the band, which pretty much leaves Liam screwed because Noel wrote, like 99% of the songs in Oasis's collection.

Still. I'm disappointed, they were one of my fave bands. Morning Glory was one of the first CD's I ever bought.

Ah well. I really never liked them because they were a Britpop band, which means they were against the Grunge movement. And I thought they tried too hard to emulate the Beatles.

I give it a month until Noel turns around and sues the others for using his material.

I really liked those guys. Too bad. Maybe he'll come running back in a bit.

The best thing to happen involving Oasis in the past decade is when that guy got on stage and pushed one of the brothers over at that concert here last summer. That was awesome.

I bet this blows over and they get back together. Those brothers have been fighting like teenage girls since the band started.

These guys have an off and on thing going and always have. I wouldn't doubt that nolan has the right idea.

Im sorry, i really despise that band. Their egos were so big that they couldnt fit on the stage and their music was boring.

God, the Gallagher Bros. are a bunch of ****ing babies. They're, like, 4o, isn't it time for them to grow-up?

Mind explaining how Britpop is 'against' grunge?

I saw them at V festival (the day they DID play) they were brilliant, though it's always hard to tell on stage how relationships between them are.

Well, first and foremost, they are pop and Grunge is anti-pop, so right off the bat you have that. Then, the Britpop bands themselves said they were against Grunge. The dude from Blur said something to the affect(?) of "If Punk Rock's purpose was to drive-out the hippies, then my purpose is to drive-out Grunge." And Noel got pissed at Kurt Cobain for his drug habits/depressing lyrics in Grunge. Not to mention Britpop's more uplifting music than Grunge's lyrics.
