What is your favorite Metal Album of all time

Me I gotta say Megadeth's Youthanasia.
It was dark, cynical, fast, melodic, and just well writtin and produced. A toute la mond is probably one of the best songs Megadeth put out. and the rest of the album kicks ass all over the place.

What about you guys? do you all have a favorite metal album? If so, why?

ehh.

as close to "metal" as it gets, blessthefall's "His Last Walk" album was pretty intense, but as for generic metal, you can't really find that stuff anymore.

Gorguts - Obscura maybe.

man youthanasia is awesome, I thought i knew it all, Reckoning Day, Addicted to Chaos and a tout le monde are best

Death's The Sound of Perseverance. Once I got a over that album due to excessive exposureI moved on from metal - I had reached the pinnacle and could go no further. A true masterpiece.

I've never really listened/explored metal much. Only metal album I own is "Ride the Lightning" by Metallica, thus, by default, RIDE THE LIGHTNING IS THE BEST EVAR OMG!!one1!one!!!11!

Ride the Lightning was a badass album. Creeping death was the best song off that one.

kickass! I just wish it were longer, 7 songs at roughly 5 minutes a song is terribly short. BUT STILL GREAT!

I've only listened to this album once all the way through, and it's already one of my favorite doom metal albums of all time.

It is impossible for me to list an all time favorite metal album. There are so many different albums that I like for many different reasons. However, I will list a few that I have been hooked on lately.

Wild Dogs' Reign of Terror is easily one of the greatest power albums I have ever heard. Deen Castronovo (of Journey fame) is some kind of wizard. I'm also in love with Titan Force's self-titled release. Damien's Stop This War is a fantastic spin as well, as is Omen's Warning of Danger.

Yeah, I'm going through a bit of a mid to late 80's power metal phase right now.

USPM is awesome.

There are many great albums too many to single one out.

But stuff like Obscura by gorguts are certainly up there.
